Bagordi Rosé

rape Variety: 100% Garnacha.

The virgin must is cold macerated along with the red Garnacha skins for 18 to 24 hours. The must is then fermented at 18 degrees C. The natural yeast in the grapes takes care of turning the sugar to alcohol while respecting the natural aromas of red fruit. This process is favoured by keeping the skins separate from the fermentation process.

Appearance: pale pink, vibrant, clean, bright with a youthful violet like rim.
Bouquet: fresh, fruity. aroma that is suggestive of ripened acidic red fruit (strawberries, raspberries and forest fruits), rose petals along with a hint of natural carbonic gas all of which contributes to a refreshing sensation.
Tasting: refreshing sensation in mouth coupled with some slight acidic notes in which one can detect the typical primary aromas associated with Garnacha. Prolongued aftertaste and balanced acids.

Ideal serving temperature 8 degrees C.

Bagordi White

Grape varieties: 50% Sauvignon Blanc; 50% White Garnacha.

White Garnacha is the most common white grape in Rioja. The grapes are picked exactly when ripe and in the cool of the day. The must is obtained after the cold maceration with the skins. The liquid is fermented at a temperature of 16 degrees C in stainless steel vats in a process that helps maintain the characteristic fruity aromas of the grapes. .The alcoholic fermentation is followed by an extended maceration that includes the grape particles.

Appearance: Straw gold in colour, clean and bright.
Bouquet: intense, fine, aromas suggestive of ripe fruit, flowers and exotic or citric fruit.
Taste: fresh, vibrant, wine with a slight sharpness. Ready for drinking, this wine is easy on the palate due to its agreeable balance of acidity and fruitiness. It lingers elegantly at the back of the nose.
Ideal serving temperature 8 degrees C.

Our organic viticulture along with a careful selection and production process, combine to make this Graciano grape wine into an exceptional experience. Its ten months barrel age in French and American oak highlights its special character while providing us with an original wine that is both potent and structured. This wine is well suited to be laid down for a number of years.

Appearance: this wine has a pronounced cherry red colour coupled with violet tones.80
Bouquet: intense and expressive, suggestive of. forest fruit. All well balanced as we may also discover hints of toast and pepper so characteristic of this grape.
Tasting: Big, generous, mouthful. Fruity, well- structured and flavoursome. Prolonged aftertaste of dark fruits, spices and toast.

Ideal serving temperature 16 – 18 degrees C

About us

Company details

Our family began to make wine in 1723. It was then that we signed a pact with the land. Fourteen generations later the Carcar family continue to care for the land while guided by the same values established by our ancestors.

Wine making allowed our family to prosper. In 1840, the King of Spain, Fernando VIII, appointed Manuel Baltasar Carcar to be a royal notary. Meanwhile, the family continued to work and develop the vineyards.

It is our conviction that wine is, in fact, “made” in the vineyard by the application of effort and knowledge acquired over many generations. This explains why our wines possess such character. Above all else, we respect the land and the quality of the grapes as we consider these to be key to being able to offer unique wines.
