Product category: Südtirol/Alto Adige

The name Arzio is derived from the 10.5 hectare Arzenhof estate, situated on a hill directly overlooking Lake Kaltern on a natural promontory in the middle of a unique red wine area. The building was constructed by the Counts Arz von und zu Vasegg (D’Arsio e Vasio) from the Val di Non in the Trentino. In the 19th century the estate came into the possession of the Baron Di Pauli family.

Dark ruby red, spicy and floral with elegant wood notes, full-bodied and dense on the palate. An exceptional wine for exceptional moments.

Kalkofen, a Vernatsch wine made from the oldest vines on the Baron Di Pauli estate, takes its name from an old lime kiln that was excavated on the estate. The wine is produced from 50-year old vines with a mini-yield of 50 hectolitres per hectare and is impressive proof of just how much potential lies in the Vernatsch grape and the Lake Kaltern area.

Luminous ruby red, fruity aromas of forest berries and cherries, velvety tannins with a unique structure and minerality. An ideal wine to accompany light Mediterranean cuisine.

This enormously concentrated late vintage comes from the Höfl unterm Stein vineyard in Söll near Tramin, on a south-east facing slope at an altitude of between 480 and 500 metres above sea level. The grapes ripen on the vine until the middle of November and thus obtain their unusual nuances of raisins, apricots and spices.

Aan exceptional experience of delicate sweetness and pleasant acidity for meditative moments.

About us

Company details

The nature of the soil, the Mediterranean climate, the moderating influence of Lake Caldaro, and cool nocturnal air streams from the Alps accompany us on the way to creating great wines. Baron Di Pauli encompasses two separate vineyard locations: the Arzenhof, with 10.5 hectares near Caldaro and the Höfl unterm Stein, scarcely 4.5 hectares in size, in Söll near Termeno.
