Welschriesling Freyheit

Erase expectations from the past and begin willing and able with a clean slate. The Welschriesling Freyheit appears in a brilliant new form, bucking dusty traditions of the supposed “bread and butter” variety. With a proudly lifted chin, it opens the ball with a splendid dance of green-yellow fruits, refreshing grassy notes and ethereal herbs and spices that culminate in an unexpected salty aftertaste that never seems to end. Thanks to a taut frame of delicate tannins and the inherent freshness of a yeasty veil, this wine immediately distances itself from the classic and pleases with a spontaneous freestyle interpretation of the Welschriesling grape. Indeed a completely different world. Attention: for best enjoyment, shake before pouring.

Rooted in calcareous sandstone soils on the east-facing slopes of the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains).

Bottled with conscientious handcraft and great care throughout the entire life cycle. The vineyards are cultivated organically. Handpicked at the end of September and left for 20 hours on the skins and stems. Spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentations. Matured for seven months on its own yeast in large wooden cask, bottled unfiltered and without added sulphur.

Neuburger Freyheit

Sassy and strutting in a naturally cloudy cloak, the Neuburger Freyheit is exuberantly yeasty and exhibits the yellow-fleshed fruit of apple pie combined with the light fragrance of wild meadow herbs and the enlivening freshness of grapefruit zest. Inspired with intense aroma and a supple texture, this wine is simultaneously mouth filling and refreshing. Bottled unfiltered in full contact with its native yeast, this wine excels with tautness and the enthusiastic courage to be different – freestyle vinophile expressionism in colour and form. Attention: for best enjoyment, shake before pouring!

The loamy-chalky-sandy sediment is naturally low in fertility and quite meagre, which provides ideal conditions for balanced growth of this rare autochthon grapevine variety. Stems from the Kurzberg vineyard in Mönchhof and limestone soils on the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains).

Bottled with conscientious handcraft and great care throughout the entire life cycle. The vineyards are currently being converted to biodynamic viticulture. Handpicked at the beginning of September and macerated for 24 hours with the stems and skins. Spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Matured in large oak casks and bottled unfiltered without added sulphur.

Chardonnay Leithaberg DAC

Chardonnay Leithaberg voices the soul of its roots with determination, purpose and courageous honesty. Initially cautiously reserved, this wine demands mindfulness, air, patience and a large glass before revealing its true nature. After a brief period of youthful stubbornness, pale blossoms and yellow-fleshed fruit appear over a meadow of wild herbs next to deep notes of roasted grain. A marvellously taut and well-defined body is revealed on the palate. Steely and driven over the length with bracing acidity and austere stone-like character: sharp-as-a-knife precision is the essence of this wine.

Chardonnay thrives splendidly on the east facing limestone and schist slopes of the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains). The main portions stem from the Spiegel, Kirchberg and Alter Berg vineyards in Winden and the Fügler in Jois. Grapes also come from the Edelgraben and Zwergsbreiten sites in Breitenbrunn.

Bottled with conscientious handcraft and great care throughout the entire life cycle. Organic and biodynamic cultivation. Handpicked at the end of September. The major share was macerated overnight, while a tiny portion was fermented on the skins. Spontaneous fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Matured for 19 months on its lees in large oak casks and used 500-liter barrels.

About us

Company details

Great wines are truly inseparable from extraordinary terroir – the site of origin plays the leading role. This is particularly true when the intention is to abstain as much as possible from all interventions and manipulations in the cellar and allow soil and site to speak. Wines speak of their origin. You can feel the cool limestone that reflects warmth of the mica-schist that stores the sun’s radiation. You can perceive the lofty heights and even the coolness of the forest. And there, where humans feel comfortable and enjoy a beautiful view, is also where our vines feel at home and the grapes simply taste better!
