Tasting Notes
Fresh and fruity with aromas of young strawberry, raspberry and notes of grapefruit on the nose with rose petal and cream leading on the palate leading to crisp bright apple balanced by creamy and minerality in the mouth. Hand picked and whole bunch press and only the cuvee was used for fermentation . Barrel fermentation and ageing for two months and then left on the lees for 18 months before engorging. Wine was then engorged with a typical french dosage and then left for three months in the bottle before releasing

Mourvedre grape. Made in a dry style. Succulent fruit aromas give way to bold cherry and dark plum, while lingering pomegranate and sweet anise leave the palate with a refreshing acidity in this sophisticated dry rose.

Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes
This wine has a deep, ruby red hue with a fragrant boquet of red plums, raspberry and black cherry overlaid with integrated oak spice. The palate shows ripe, red berry fruit and cherry flavours with a lingering fruit sweetness. Tannins are fine and integrated, making the wine immediately approachable.

The Lothian Vineyards Pinot Noir comes from a 2.25ha vineyard planted to two different clones. The fruit was hand harvested, gently crushed and fermented in open fermenters for a period of ten days. Ambient yeasts and manual pigeage were utilised to coax both flavour and colour from the fruit. The must was lightly pressed and racked off into French oak barrique (20% new). Malo-lactic fermentation occured in barrique. The wine was barrel matured for a period of eleven months and lightly filtered prior to bottling to maintain the wine’s integrity and subtle Pinot flavour spectrum.

Lothian Vineyards Chardonnay

Tasting Notes
This wine has a pale yellow-gold colour. On the nose: fresh baked bread, pineapple, tangerine and apple pie. The taste shows a good sugar acid balance with the obvious taste of the elements identified on the nose. The wine has a rich mouthfeel. It shows good length and exhibits complexity of taste.

The 2016 vintage from Lothian Vineyards' 3 blocks of Chardonnay was harvested at optimal ripeness. The fruit was cooled prior to crushing, with a period of skin contact followed by light pressing. Fermentation was started in stainless steel with ambient yeast. The fermenting juice was racked into a selection of French barrique, followed by a period of intensive battonage to bolster the wine's mid-palate. 10 months of barrel maturation on the fine lees fleshed out the wine and added richness. Prior to bottling the wine was lightly filtered to preserve it's integrity.
