This is a whisky for the curious and free-thinking.Founded by nine unlikely friends at an equally unlikely place on the West Coast of Denmark, Stauning is Denmark’s first multi-award winning whisky distillery. All our whiskies are made using only locally harvested barley and rye. We do our own floor malting. We use 24 small, direct-fired copper pot stills. Because it’s how we create the best flavor in our whisky. Leave no flavor behind. Ein Whisky für die neugierigen und für die freigeistigen. Alle unseren Whiskys sind ausschließlich mit lokal geernteter Gerste und Roggen. Wir sind eigenhändig für das Bodenmälzen verantwortlich. Wir benutzen 24 kleine, unterdirektem Feuer erhitzte Brennblasen aus Kupfer. Kein Geschmack wird zurückgelassen.

RECIPE IDEAS

Danhattan

5 cl Stauning Rye Whisky (alternatively, Stauning Bastard / El Clásico)
2 cl Sweet Red Vermouth
5 ml cherry syrup (preferably from Maraschino or Luxardo)
5 ml 'Gammel Dansk' bitter

Mix all ingredients together with ice in a mixing glass, until cooled. Serve in a tumbler glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

Stauning Smoke Single Malt Cobbler

5 cl Stauning Smoke
2 cl fresh lemon juice
2 cl Grand Marnier liquor
2 dashes of Angustura Bitter
Top with Ginger Ale (optional)

Mix whisky, lemon, liqueur and bitter in a shaker. Add ice and whisky and shake well. Strain into a highball glass full of crushed ice. Top with a good Ginger Ale and stir gently. Garnish with a lemon boat and twig of mint. Serve with a straw.

Stauning Kaos Highball

5 cl Stauning Kaos
Soda Water (well carbonated)
Ice (quality ice, not from tap water)
Lemon wedge

Put ice and whisky in a highball glass. Top with Soda Water. Drop in the lemon wedge
