Blind tasting in the black box of the Sommelier Union
23.02.2025 - A wine tasting like no other: The Sommelier-Union Deutschland invites you to a unique experience at ProWein - blind tasting in the darkened Black Box in Hall 1 (E121). Wine tasting in complete darkness allows for an open and unadulterated exchange. All remaining senses are sharpened and the focus is exclusively on the taste, aroma and texture of the wine. Several sessions are offered daily, each for eight participants. The blind tasting is not only a challenge for wine connoisseurs, but also an opportunity for intensive exchange among the participants. An experience not to be missed!
This is how the wine tasting takes place in complete darkness
Light lock and orientation: The participants enter the darkness through a so-called light lock, the tasting room remains in the dark. They are guided to their seats by experts in darkness.
Safe arrangement of the wines: The tasting takes place according to a sophisticated and, above all, safe system - participants are surprised by their own awakened abilities through the methodology.
Intensive sensory experience: The speakers - including renowned wine experts such as Jörg Linke, Silvio Nietzsche, Christina Hilker and Christian Frens - lead the exchange, which is generally much more lively than under normal conditions.
A challenge even for professionals: wine order, vintages, alcohol content: without visual aids or notes, speakers and participants have to rely entirely on their memory - a good exercise in concentration.
