ProWein 1994 - 2018
On February 23rd and 24th, around 1,500 visitors come to PRO VINS in a hall of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Center, to taste the wines of 321 exhibitors. Since then, ProWein hasn’t changed the world, but rather the wine world!
Gascony – an unknown treasure deep in the south-west
Armagnac is France’s oldest and most traditional brand, the dashing d'Artagnan one of the most influential figures in French literature. And foie gras is officially part of the nation’s gastronomic heritage. Nevertheless, Gascony is hardly known internationally. The region has quite different attractions for the wine industry.
Slovenia boasts everything that’s beautiful in the world, just in a smaller size. Slovenians even promote their country’s qualities on this basis. With wine however, it’s possible to think on a larger scale. This is especially true for the small but standout region of Brda.

Commissioned by ProWein, the Geisenheim University has surveyed more than 2,300 experts in the wine industry on international wine markets, marketing trends, developments in online wine sales and the economic situation.
