Hungarian wines at ProWein – this year in a new, innovative form

Ungaricum - The Soul of Hungary

This year’s ProWein event is expected to witness a brand new appearance of Hungary and its wines – the traditional country presence will be complemented by an exciting alternative concept organized by a German company.

Ungaricum, an enterprise specializing in the import and promotion of top-quality Hungarian wines to the German market teamed up with three of Hungary’s finest wineries to demonstrate ProWein’s audience why the country should be back on their radar screen. The Szepsy, Szent Tamás and Vylyan wineries as leaders of Hungary’s recent transformation of winemaking will exhibit together with their importer – the joint stand will boast a large tasting zone and will be fitted with digital marketing and promotion technology developed and implemented by Ungaricum.

The tasting zone in Hall 13 F 79 will host 14 professional tasting events in English / German. These will cover indigenous Hungarian grape varieties (furmint, kadarka, blaufrankisch), Hungarian wine regions, as well as authentic blends (bikavér / bull’s blood, tokaji aszú) distinctly linked to Hungary.

The sessions will be facilitated by renowned international experts, professional winemakers and young marketeers. Prominent players of the wine business, such as Caro Maurer, the first female Master of Wine from German speaking countries and Markus Berlinghof, head of the German national sommelier team will both lead exciting masterclasses. As regular visitors to Hungary they already gained first-hand experience about the potential of Hungarian wines and they are now ready to share their impressions.

Ungaricum’s joint participation with the Szepsy, Szent Tamás and Vylyan wineries at this year’s ProWein earmarks their shared principles of quality and continuous innovation. The international benchmark for quality represented by the Szepsy family, the value chain focused pioneering efforts of the Szent Tamás winery and the unique customer engagement initiatives of Vylyan are a perfect combination and a match to Ungaricum’s innovative approach.

Beáta Keszler, co-founder and owner of main exhibitor Ungaricum claims that due to lacking Hungarian marketing efforts and funds distribution of Hungarian wines in Germany requires extra patience, dedication and perseverance. To neutralize this competitive disadvantage the company developed a digital marketing concept that they will be showcasing at ProWein. The approach utilizes connected cloud technology that automates event promotion, execution and follow-up – all key to successful wine marketing.

Cooperation for a breakthrough in export markets is essential. Therefore, in addition to the Szepsy, Szent Tamás and Vylyan wines the tasting sessions will also introduce exciting wines from 14 additional Hungarian wineries. Through its dedicated founders of Hungarian origin Ungaricum is expected to bring a refreshing new breeze to Düsseldorf – a worthy complement to Hungary’s traditions based presence.
