We are proud to have received on Tuesday 29 April in London (UK) the “Green Awards 2014” in the “Amorim sustainability award” category. Apart from our many concrete actions, it is our outlook and approach to sustainable development that won us this renowned international prize.
Awarded by The Drinks Business, the wine and spirits journal with the widest readership in the English-speaking world, and Amorim, world leader in cork-making, this prize is the reward for our consistent results in sustainable development. The award criterion is simple: it goes to the company that has for the last three years applied the most sustainably efficient and integrated practices in its farming methods, packaging materials and systems, power saving and in-house recycling. We were one of ten finalists – production companies and multinationals from all countries – to be awarded the prize by a panel of experts and professionals.
For over ten years, The Drinks Business, a paper and online trade journal of international wine and spirits news, been running the “Green Awards” competition in conjunction with Amorim, world leader in natural cork-making. The 2014 competition focused especially on businesses committed to reducing their environmental footprint.
This Green Award 2014 makes us even more determined to pursue this commitment in partnership with those we work with every day.
