The northernmost German qualitywine region at ProWein 2010 in Düsseldorf

During the most important German trade fair for wines and spirits the stand of the Weinbauverband (viticultural association) of Saale-Unstrut is located in hall 4 stand 06. Between the 21th and 23st March 2010 there will be 3 wineries who will present their products at the shared exhibition stand to the international trade visitors in Düsseldorf. All of them have attended the trade fair before.

The private winery, the Landesweingut (state owned winery) Kloster Pforta GmbH, Weingut Herzer from Rossbach (Naumburg), and also Weingut Klaus Böhme from Kirchscheidungen used this ability and took part in the direct competition with wines from other qualitywine growing regions around the world.
Primarily there will be typical dry wines from the region. Although Saale-Unstrut is famous for a diversity of grape varieties you will get the chance to taste the winemakers well-known Weißburgunder (Pinot Blancs) and Grauburgunder (Pinot Grigio), some young Mueller-Thurgau and Bacchus wines. And of course Saale-Unstrut will not miss out on a lively refreshing Riesling.

Talking about red wines, there will bet the opportunity to taste the 4 main varieties Blauer Zweigelt, Dornfelder, Portugieser and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir).

Die Winzervereinigung Freyburg eG (winegrowers association) is located to hall 4. The largest grape processing company in Saale-Unstrut cultivates the contact to the trade visitors at their own stand in Düsseldorf for a decade already.

A special event will take place at the viticultural association’s stand on Sunday 21th March 2010 at 14.30 am. “Saale-Unstrut – 20 years after the German reunification: Weißburgunder and Riesling are the new stars – gentle developed in modern wine cellars, they are tastful accredits of a cultural wine region.”
The trade visitors can convince themselves of the excellent quality of the products of the regional winemakers. In the meantime the local vintners developed besides their excellent Weißburgunder and Riesling, which do not have to be afraid of the competition with other German wines.
