As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, and in cooperation with BUSINESS FRANCE, ProWein 2019 will be focussing on the wine nation per se, France. In doing so, we pay tribute to the commitment of the French wine-making industry, without which today’s ProWein would never have been founded in 1994. What’s more, the ‘Grand Nation’ has had a decisive influence on ProWein with its diversity, its broad range of products and its multifaceted seminar program. Whether Bergerac, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne or Alsace, Languedoc-Roussillon, Loire, Provence and Rhone – the French wine-growing regions, just like producers of spirits, have always taken part in the ProWein in Düsseldorf.
And will do so again in ProWein’s anniversary year! For the first time we will be offering a booklet that presents every single French wine-growing region with its typicity and diversity. The brochure, published together with BUSINESS FRANCE, lists all of the more than 1,500 producers and suppliers of wines, spirits and craft products. It gives you an idea of what is on offer from France at ProWein 2019 – meaning that you will arrive at the world’s largest trade fair for wines and spirits in Düsseldorf well prepared.
In this spirit, I would like to wish you a successful time at ProWein 2019!
Your Marius Berlemann Global Head – Wine & Spirits

Vin de France
VIN DE FRANCE is a national denomination dedicated to grape varietal wines. Representing a new generation of French wines, producers can blend the best grapes or wines from different regions of France. While strict quality requirements are in place, wine producers have the flexibility to use modern winemaking techniques. With rules concerning yields or winemaking practices lifted, producers can be as creative in their production methods as they wish in order to design new wine profiles.
