Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, S.A. launches a new image in the new vintage of the T da Quinta da Terrugem.
Produced only in extraordinary years (1999, 2001, 2002, 2008 and now 2011), T da Quinta da Terrugem is a superior wine of Alentejo region because of the selection of the best grapes of Quinta da Terrugem, in Borba.
The letter T makes an iconic representation for Quinta da Terrugem, connecting the wine with this property and enhancing the characteristics of this terroir.
With this new image is intended to enhance the letter T and pass a modernity and adaptability to the new times.
According to the winemaker Hugo Carvalho, in 2011, due to the balance of production, the ripe grapes created a more concentrated wine. The Aragonez, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon developed nicely.
The 3 grape varieties were fermented separately in stainless steel temperature controlled tanks. After fermentation, the wine spends 18 months in new French oak barrels of 225 liters. After the ageing, the final blend is made.
This wine presents a concentrated deep purple color, an attractive aroma, where the deep notes of ripe fruits, the chocolate and some smokiness gave it perfect complexity. On the palate, the strong body, the elegant tannins and the acidity make this wine full of fruit into a powerful and persistent wine.
