The international wine and spirits industry is counting on ProWein 2010! This is reflected in the current registration status for the leading trade fair, which takes place from 21 to 23 March in Düsseldorf. With more than 3,000 exhibitors, ProWein is close to being sold out.
All of the world's relevant growing regions will be represented in Düsseldorf. The forerunner among exhibiting nations is Germany with more than 700 exhibitors, followed by Italy, France, Spain, Austria and Portugal. The "new world" presents itself with approximately 200 exhibitors. The five wine-growing regions Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa are appearing for the first time under the "New World @ ProWein" flag. These five overseas countries are planning collaborative seminars, workshops and tastings, and will be introducing prominent vintners. The East European contingent is also very strong with exhibitors from Georgia, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Russia.
All told more than 40 nations will be represented with exhibitors at ProWein 2010. Wines from Peru and Liqueurs from Finland will also be introduced for the first time.
Spirits in a class of their own<7b>
The spirits segment is also strongly positioned at ProWein. More than 300 exhibitors from around the globe utilise the foremost trade fair to introduce their top products. Next to renowned suppliers such as Ferrand, Ziegler or Freihof, numerous specialty vendors will also present themselves with interesting new products. The FIZZZ Lounge dedicates itself fully to the Football World Cup in 2010. Under the motto "Cocktails for Champions", country-specific event drinks will be mixed using spirits from the major football nations.
The exhibitors' offerings will be augmented by an extensive supporting programme, including numerous workshops, lecture series and top-class tastings. The special show "Wine's best friends" presents delicacies that go perfectly with wine. Another highlight is the central tasting zone at ProWein, which is running under the motto "Wine in Business" in 2010. For the first time, red and white wines will be presented according to various sales channels, allowing trade visitors to orient themselves according to their needs.
