The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) is pleased to announce its presence at this month’s Prowein fair, with activities on the stand including breakfast briefings with this year’s IWSC president, Prinz Michael zu Salm Salm, and tutored tastings of wines from IWSC award-winning German producers.
Prinz Michael zu Salm Salm will be hosting breakfast briefings on the IWSC stand D01 (hall 7a) for both producers and the press on Monday 22nd March, during which he will outline the history of the UK’s most prestigious, independent competition and the benefits producers can expect from entering the competition, which is now in its 41st year. Producers and members of the trade are invited to attend the first briefing at 08:30, while press are invited to attend the 09:30 briefing. Coffee and pastries will be provided for attendees at both briefings.
The daily tutored tastings held on the IWSC stand promise to be another highlight of this year’s Prowein fair. Hosted by IWSC award-winning producers, including Sonja Höferlin from Bürgerspital / Franken, Karl Schmitt from Schmitt’s Kinder and Jochen Ratzenberger of Ratzenberger, the tastings will be held at 14:00 daily and producers will be on hand to give their firsthand experiences of the competition.
Prinz Michael zu Salm Salm, IWSC president for 2010, says;
“It is an honour for me to be working with the IWSC and I am delighted to be attending Prowein in my capacity as president, to help further build the profile of this prestigious competition in Germany. As president of the VDP Prädikatsweingüter for many years, I understand the value that an IWSC medal or award can add to a wine, so I am delighted to help spread the word of the IWSC amongst my compatriots this year.”
