New: ProWein App offers daily updated information

More exhibitors, new country participations, extensive trend show – ProWein 2012 from 4 to 6 March in Düsseldorf is a “must-go” event for the international wine and spirits sector

In a few weeks’ time the leading trade fair ProWein will open its doors and over 3,800 exhibitors from some 50 countries will present high-calibre wines and spirits to the expected 40,000 trade visitors from throughout the world. For the first time now visitors can prepare their visit to the trade fair with the ProWein App.

From mid-February the ProWein App will be available in German and English and for free at the Apple AppStore and on the Android Market. The “backbone” of the versatile functions is the daily updated exhibitor database for ProWein 2012. Like at www.prowein.com a variety of search criteria such as company name, product category or country, for instance, allow users to compile their personal list of favourites and, hence, also an individual visit plan. The location of the selected exhibitors is displayed on the interactive site map. The offline search includes the exhibitors’ complete contact details as well as stand numbers. Smartphone users can also use the ProWein App to access the extensive programme of events and will get the latest trade fair and exhibitor news sent to their mobile phones direct. Basic data such as opening hours and admission prices for ProWein 2012 round off the mobile offering.

Even without a Smartphone www.prowein.com provides helpful tips and useful tools for perfect trade fair preparation in terms of both contents and organisation. In addition to the exhibitor database updated on a daily basis, exhibitors’ latest information plus details on the varied programme of side events, the Online Ticketshop is of particular relevance to visitors. Those registering online in the run-up to the trade fair can not only print out their admission tickets at home allowing them to obtain their personal badges in just milliseconds at the entrance to the trade fair but they can also benefit from discounted rates. For example: the 1-day ticket purchased at the Online Shop costs just € 30 as against € 39 when bought from the ticket office. Furthermore, Düsseldorf Marketing & Tourismus (official service partner of Messe Düsseldorf) has “tailor-made” travel offers in store at www.prowein.com. Clear directions facilitate your trip to the Exhibition Centre by any means of transport.

The general rule: Those making use of the many possibilities and preparing their visits to Düsseldorf in a focused manner will make the most of their visit to ProWein. After all, the ranges on show are extensive: More than 3,800 exhibitors from some 50 countries will be presented at ProWein 2012. There is a strong presence not only from the classic wine-growing nations in Europe and overseas, but also again from such “exotic” countries as Brazil, India, Japan and China. Exciting new discoveries also come care of countries participating for the first time: in the wine segment a producer from Kosovo and in the spirits segment a supplier from Sri Lanka introducing traditional arrack.

Also new is the concentrated platform for organic wines in Hall 7.1, which is occupied for the first time now. Thanks to over 220 international exhibitors visitors can experience the diversity of organically grown wines and champagnes. Background information is provided by the diversified line-up of accompanying events organised by the Ecovin and Demeter associations as well as by the numerous other seminars and tastings arranged on current themes by the ProWein exhibitors at their stands in all exhibition halls.

Another “must” for everyone seeking inspiration from trends and innovations is a visit to the central Tasting Zone (new location in Hall 7.1) under the heading of “Ursprungsweine – Wines of Origin” as well as to the Special Deli Show “Wine’s Best Friends” (gallery of Hall 6) and the “Do-it-yourself-Lab – Infusions, Bitters & Co” at the FIZZZ Lounge in the spirits Hall 7a.
