Domain Los Pinos is sited in the Valley Alhorines, in Fontanares, 635 meters above the sea level, between the Serra Grossa and Agullent, to the South of the province of Valencia, on the inside. It’s located in a wonderful landscape steeped in history as Arabs and Romans inhabited the area. The winery was founded at the end of the 19th century, and was located in the basement of the current Casa Los Pinos. There are documents that prove that in 1909 was awarded with a silver medal in the exhibition of merchants of Valencia. In 2009 there were 100 years of this award. Los Pinos domain extends over 92 hectares. The 17TH century mansion is surrounded by a fantastic and quiet spot and the winery with our vineyards on 62 hectares all grown under organic farming criteria, so their products are a natural cultivated. The winery has a production capacity of 300,000 litters per year. The varieties used in the elaboration of our wines are: Monastrell, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah for blacks. Verdil, Sauvignon Blanc, Mouscat petit grain and Viognier for whites. In 1990 BODEGAS LOS PINOS becomes the first organic Winery in the Valencian Community and the second in Spain. Professor Vincent Petrucci of the University of Fresno, California was hired for the transformation. He visited the estate and assessed the potential wine of the same, making recommendations about varieties and type of driving. Our philosophy; the ecology in the wine is not only comply with a standard, is a philosophy of life and work based on the sense of responsibility that leads us to respect the ecosystem and preserve our health while giving pleasure to all lovers of good wine; a quality wine that expresses our terroir and harmony between a responsible for elaboration and excellent grape. All our wines belong to the Denomination of Origen Valencia and comply with European regulations on organic farming.
