Binyamina Winery

Israeli Traditional Winery Binyamina at the ProWein Fair in Düsseldorf

Leipzig, Tel Aviv February, 2009: The Binyamina Winery is newly displayed at the Israeli community booth at the International Wine Exhibition ProWein in Düsseldorf from the 29th until the 31st of March, 2009. The wines of this company of tradition are already being distributed worldwide in over 13 countries.

In Israel, the vineyard which was established in 1952 under the name Eliaz is regarded as a company of tradition. It is located at the base of Mt. Carmel in the city of Binyamina, which was founded in 1922 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild. The name of this city can be attributed to his middle name Benjamin. Even today, the building of a former Rothschild perfume factory from 1925 is used as the winery´s visitor center. In 1992, Hollywood producers, Avi Lerner and Danny Dimbort, who have Israeli ancestry, bought the estate. Through their extensive investments in vineyards and wine cellar technology, the winery, under the new name of Binyamina, developed into one of the top five wineries in the country in a short amount of time. Under the sponsorship of the wine experts. Saason Ben-Aharon and Assaf Paz, 3 million bottles of kosher wine are produced yearly.

Not unusual for Isreal, the winery attains its grapes from all wine regions within the country and produce a wide variety of wines. They are marketed in five product lines: Chosen, (Auslese), Binyamina Reserve, Yogev (Hebrew for winemaker), Teva (nature), and Kramim (vineyard). Specialty wines are marketed in limited editions under the name Tiltan (Clover).

Binyama wines are currently exported worldwide to the USA, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, and many European nations, including Germany.

The opportunity to personally speak with the wine makers and try the wide assortment of Binyamina wines is available at the Israeli community booth in Hall 6 (Booth G60) at the ProWein Exhibition 2009 in Düsseldorf.
