Supporting programme sets new records with more than 200 seminars, tastings and lectures
Highly informative, multi-faceted and very up-to-date – all of these attributes apply to the supporting programme at ProWein 2010. Numerous seminars, moderated tastings and lectures accompany the leading trade fair for the international wine and spirits industry this year from 21 to 23 March. Altogether more than 200 events will be offered – more than ever before in ProWein history. Renowned sommeliers, international trade journalists, and leading industry experts form the circle of speakers that has been assembled to impart their knowledge to the trade visitors. Getting to the individual events is easy since they are all in the middle of the trade fair happenings – they take place right at the exhibitors' stands.
More than 200 Doses of Pure Information
The supporting programme at ProWein is every bit as diversified as the trade fair itself. Numerous exhibitors offer moderated tastings of wines from all of the world's relevant growing regions, including Israel, the Czech Republic, Moldavia and Slovenia. Topics such as terror, the climate and innovative concepts are in focus at the seminars from the five overseas nations Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa, who are presenting themselves cooperatively under the title "Down to Earth" for the first time at ProWein 2010. High-level speakers appear four times daily to address current topics from the New World.
The German Wine Institute (DWI) is planning an open tasting under the motto "Top Wines of the Riesling Generation" at its stand. Anyone interested in organic wines will find a plethora of interesting offerings at ECOVIN, the DLG TestService or the Club of European Organic Vintners. On the subject of Fair Wine there will be a lecture on new marketing concepts in the area of Fair Trade for the first time.
The Association of German Quality Wine Estates (VDP) invites all to hall 4 for its traditional "Wine Word Exchange" in collaboration with the German Wine and Vintner School and the German Vintner Union. Here, various growing regions and their top vintners will be presented under the motto, "The Best Wines from the Best Locations". On ProWein Monday, Meininger Publishing will devote itself to the topic of "Wine Marketing in Competitive Markets: Communication for Wine between Composition and Necessity".
