Altesino, owned by the Gnudi Angelini family since 2002, has its headquarters in the fifteenth century Villa Altesi. Next to the beautiful panorama overlooking Montalcino and the vineyards, you will find the modern and functional facilities where the vinification, ageing and bottling processes take place.
In the beginning of the 70’s Altesino started a modern business path, born out of the local and traditional farming methods ; a new way of producing and conceiving wine was introduced.
The deep relationship that has been created in forty years in the territory of Montalcino, prosperous of history, beauty, and appeal, is the leading way that inspires Altesino in producing wine and maintaining its culture.
In the 43 hectares of vineyards with Sangiovese, the Brunello (Vintage, Riserva and Montosoli), Rosso di Montalcino and Palazzo Altesi are produced.
From a blending of Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Rosso and Alte d’Altesi are produced; the list is completed by an excellent Vin Santo, extra virgin olive oil and the series of distillates (Brunello Grappa, Riserva Brunello Grappa and Brandy).
Throughout 2009 we will keep you updated with the company’s news; starting from the recent recognition in Wine Spectator magazine awarding 95 points for Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli 2004, placing it among the best bottles in the area.
Looking forward to having all of you as our guests, we take this opportunity to send you our best regards, on behalf of Altesino too.
The company will be at Prowein, Stand 03 F130.
