Following its highly successful debut appearance last year, „Wine’s Best Friends“ – WBF - will return to ProWein 2008 in a more exten-sive presention of tasty treats which work especially well with wine. This year’s ProWein, to be held March 16th – 18th, 2008, at the Duesseldorf Fair Grounds, will see Wine’s Best Friends enter a new dimension with ex-tended gastronomical parameters.
The WBF exhibition, held all three days, will take place in Hall 6 and is open to all 33,000 trade visitors expected to attend. This year more than 24 acclaimed producers and importers finest quality specialty gourmet treats from Germany, Italy and Spain will display their wares, all of which are particularly well-suited for consumption with wine.
Among the mouth-watering delights are all manner of chocolates either pure or in combination with various salt or spice infusions, extending to include various honeys, olive oils and caviars. Black winter truffles, mustard with primeval forest pepper, strawberry jams with green tea, or balsamic vinegar with wild strawberries. The increasingly important biological-organic production aspects of food specialties shall not be overlooked either as Bio-chocolate products and various olive paste preparations from organic plantations, orchards and farms will be presented, too.
„Last year’s excellent reception of ‚Wine’s Best Friends’ at ProWein 2007, showed that we were definitely on the right track with our concept,“ states Wilheld Niedergoeker, Managing Director the Duesseldorf Fair. „This additional activity at ProWein extends the parameters of this international show’s attractiveness, providing further stimulation for the shaping and extension of the wine branches’ offering to the trade.“
The editorial staff of Germany’s foremost gourmet magazine, Der Feinschmecker“ (The Gourmet) -- Jahreszeiten Publishing, is responsible for the overall concept and execution of Wine’s Best Friends.
