2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Deliciously pure and supple, this wine is layered with seductive mocha and espresso laced oak wrapped around a dense core of currant, blackberry compote, licorice, with hints of crushed rock, chocolate and tobacco leaf. On the palate, this offering is showing dark plum, velvety raspberry notes with a long, persistent finish and a tremendous depth.

THE 2013 VINTAGE
The summer of 2013 marked the warmest summer on record for us here in the Walla Walla Valley. Spring was cool and moist, as is typical here, with bud break occurring right on time in mid-April. Once it started warming up, it didn’t stop - our thermometers rose over 100° quite often! The first week of September brought relief: dramatically cooler days and nights which allowed for the development of our trademark Walla Walla Valley acidity. Harvest began around this same time, with the cooler temperatures allowing us to finish right on schedule at the end of October.

2013 Merlot

Seductive aromas of red cherries, ripe black currant, violets and exotic spices mingle delicately with rich, melting dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is wonderfully plush with silky tannins, an appetite-encouraging level of acidity and impressively restrained minerality. Rich and concentrated, this expansive Merlot finishes with a smooth, refined elegance.

2013 Trine

Centered around a rich core of ripe Bing cherry, dried herbs, rose petal, violet, and polished leather, this wine demonstrates the magic of Cabernet Franc as a main blending component. With a seamless and structured mouthfeel, the palate displays accents of red fruit, plum and savory notes. Despite the warm vintage, this offering shows elegance and balance with a long finish.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Trine’ defined
The word ‘trine’ (it rhymes with ‘wine’) is defined as a close group of three, and this wine pays homage to the families of Pepper Bridge: the McKibbens, Goffs, and Pellets. As with our Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Trine showcases the best of our Walla Walla Valley estate vineyards. However, it allows Winemaker Jean-François Pellet more freedom of expression since it is a creative blend rather than a varietal-based wine. Each vintage will contain a unique combination of Bordeaux’s traditional five red grapes.
