This wine is made from the indigenous white Pošip grape sort from our very own vineyards, on steep southern slopes and hills descending into the sea. The name Nonno is an old Dalmatian expression for grandfather so this wine is, in a way, a connection to our brand Rizman which originates from our great-grandfather’s nickname.
It is characterised by a degree of prolonged aging in oak barrels which combined with cold fermentation creates this elegant and serious wine.
This wine, as the name itself suggests, is made from the indigenous Dalmatian white Pošip grape sort, from our very own vineyards, on steep southern slopes and hills descending into the sea.
Pošip is for many wine connoisseurs our most potent white grape sort. With organic grape production, contemporary processing and modern way of winemaking we tried to take the best out of this sort and turn it into golden drops of wine, known as Pošip.
Fresh, aromatic and fruity, served at an ideal temperature of 10-12 °C, Pošip is a treat for all white-wine lovers.
Our objective is to enrich and strengthen the Dalmatian and Croatian wine scene, impose new quality standards and, along with other producers with the same idea, place Dalmatian and Croatian wines where they belong – at the very top of the global wine offer.
In the upcoming years we want to be positioned as one of the leading Croatian wine producers by unifying our superb location and our potent autochthonous sorts Plavac mali and Pošip.
We will work towards that objective slowly but surely. Wine is not a “one day show”. The story of good wines is created over many years. Our enthusiasm and love for this job, mixed with the hundred-year tradition, are the warranty of our success.
