About us

Company details

Viticoltori Broccatelli e Galli born in 1951 from the passion for enological field of Broccatelli Marcello and Galli Quintilio.
Upfront the company always tried to blend passion, agricultural and business experience to guarantee the high quality of final product.
The most important factor to reach this goal was certain the area (terroir).
At the end of 80’s the company bought the first 50 hectares in Torgiano district, an ancient medieval village in the heart of Umbria, on the river Tevere and Chiascio confluence.
At today the vineyards have a total extension of 80 hectares in the best Umbria vine areas, exclusively in DOCG and DOC production areas characterized by particular microclimatic conditions; 50 hectares in the wonderful Torgiano’s hills, where grow, with eco-friendly method and evironmental conservation, grapes like Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Grechetto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
In this area also is produced the “jewel wine” (Torgiano Rosso Riserva DOCG) the unique Umbria DOCG with Sagrantino. The remaining 30 hectares in Montefalco area where grows the totally monovarietal vineyard of Sagrantino.
In this area there was particular attention for implantation type, where the density is such to allow a containment production for stump and obtain best quality grapes. Infact, in specific case of Sagrantino the production don’t overtake the 50 ql.
These precautions are used also for the production of other grapes, with particular consideration for yields, that for company choice, are low and in the disciplinary limit.
The total of these work methods, the care in grapes selection, all vinification and bottling step, the international prestige of enological consultancy, the attention for market evolutions, permit to create high quality products that find their maximum expression in our “Eccellenze Umbre” line.
Today in the family company, under Broccatelli Marcello guide, work six nephews. They continue, with passion and enological knowledge, the activity that started more than 60
years ago, with respect for the tradition of Umbria area but, at the same time, they avail the winery of the most advanced technologies and innovations.
Over these last years, “Viticoltori Broccatelli Galli” reach a great approval both in the market and nationa and international specialized press.
