CILIEGIOLO - DOC MAREMMA TOSCANA 'CILIEGIOLO'

VISUAL ANALYSIS
Deep ruby hue with purple reflections.

OLFACTORY ANALYSIS
Even if its aromatic profile is at the beginning wrapped in a peculiar peaty note, it is then completely filled with the most appealing red fruit: strawberry, raspberry and, obviously, cherry.

GUSTATIVE ANALYSIS
In the mouth the wine feels soft and juicy, with an acidity that is perfectly balanced with the global structure and an excellent olfactory and gustative harmony, with a bitterish finish.

SERVICE
Serve at 16-18°C in medium glasses, after decanting.

BEST WITH
Due to its evident aromatic character and its structure, the Ciliegiolo Giovematches easily with different sorts of dishes, provided they are rich in scents and not excessively fat, as aromatic cold cuts (e.g. finocchiona), pastas with meat sauces, medium-old cheeses and stewed red meats.

This wine, where fragrant scents and pleasant drinking prevail, can be easily matched with a large set of dishes. Mixed antipasti, pasta dishes with delicate sauces, vegetable flans, fresh cheeses, not too complex fish dishes, chicken and turkey meat cooked in the pot are some of the best matchings for the Bianco Tartaruga.

MORELLINO DI SCANSANO DOCG - RISERVA 2014

VISUAL ANALYSIS
Deep garnet hue with orange reflections.

OLFACTORY ANALYSIS
The aromatic profile of this wine is intense and well expressed, balanced between rich fruity scents (red and black cherry) and the sweet and spicy nuances from the oak.

GUSTATIVE ANALYSIS
The wine enters the mouth with decision, with a dense plot of tannins, but also a good softness combined with the right acidity. Long aromatic persistence with flavours of tobacco, coffee and spirituous fruit.

SERVICE
Serve at 18-20°C in medium glasses.

BEST WITH
Riserva for the density of tannins, its alcohol content and the richness of its scents can accompany the most challenging dishes. Excellent matches may be tasted with seasoned sheep cheeses, pit-seasoned cheeses and game prepared with several recipes: from roast pheasant to wild boar, including the best red meat roasts of the regional tradition.

MORELLINO DI SCANSANO DOCG 2015

VISUAL ANALYSIS
Medium ruby red hue

OLFACTORY ANALYSIS
To the nose the wine is fruity, with evident cherry and blackberry tones and a pleasant spicy and herbal note.

GUSTATIVE ANALYSIS
In the mouth it appears fairly dense, with a good body and a balanced acidity, with perceptible, but controlled tannins. Good persistence, equally due to the fruity and spicy olfactory sensations. It closes with a slightly bitterish aftertaste.

SERVICE
Serve at 16-18°C in medium glasses.

BEST WITH
The full body and the good variety of its aromas make this Morellino di Scansano DOCG an excellent match for the typical dishes of the local cuisine. From the rich Tuscan soups to roast red meat, this wine is perfectly matched to pappardelle with wild board ragout, medium-old sheep cheeses and meat dishes in general, provided they are not grilled.

Company details

Since 1987 the Motta family have been directing operations on there farm, La Tartaruga.

The farmlands are in a superb location among the hillocks of Argentiera, 10 kms to the south of Grosseto, virtually opposite the Maremma Park.

The Motta's use agricultural methods on their land which are in tune with the environment.

The presence of favourable environmental factors (a unique microclimate, exposure to sun and wind, the soiltype) allied to an outstanding personal commitment, ensure obtain genuinely authentic products.
