About us

Company details

La Spinosa was established in Tuscany in 1982 midway between Florence and Siena.

Right from the start, we chose a farming method with a low environmental impact and since 1994 we have been certified as Organic Growers.

We are convinced that organic farming provides an improved and more natural balance for the vines and for the environment as a whole, as well as protecting the health of both the producer and the consumer.

In 2000 we inaugurated the new company winery which we constantly modernise with technological solutions allowing us to produce wines with an increasingly higher quality.

The typical Mediterranean climate, the particularly favourable exposure, and the organic farming method, which respects the vegetable and production balance of the vines, allow us to produce quality wines with characteristics that highlight the typical features of each vine type.

We mainly make our wines using native grape varieties (sangiovese, canaiolo, colorino, fogliatonda, mammolo, malvasia nera, trebbiano toscano and malvasia lunga del chianti) together with small percentages of other vines (merlot, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay).
