ROSSO DI MONTALCINO DOC

Rosso di Montalcino is considered to be the "younger brother" of Brunello, since it is made with the same type of grape - Sangiovese, vinified "pure". Compared to its "big brother", Rosso di Montalcino di Coldisole is made using grapes not considered quite suitable for Brunello - for a wine that is fresher and more easily paired with dishes of every kind. Refinement is also shorter - just eight months in small oak barrels, followed by eight months in the bottle. This wine nevertheless boasts an excellent structure; it is fruity, with impressive and persistent perfumes and suitable for moderate ageing.

INSIEME TOSCANA IGT

Round and well structured wine, with delicate hints of wood, which enhances the taste of wine, without overwhelming. We selected five different varieties, from different locations of our estates, and we mixed them to obtain a harmonious and well balanced, almost musical, product.
The grapes are Sangiovese, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Alicante.
The Sangiovese comes in part from the vineyards in Sestano, and partly from the vineyards in Magliano in Toscana.
Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Alicante are from Magliano in Toscana vineyards.
The packaging is innovative: the label, bearing the name of the wine, of the producer and a circle containing the names of the five varieties, is designed to symbolize the characteristics of the wine that we have described above.
The aging was carried out using traditional oak barrels of 30 hectoliters, for a period of 13 months

LIONELLO MARCHESI

Thirty years ago, a successful industrialist decided to devote himself to his great passion: wine-growing. And so began a fascinating and complex story that culminated in the acquisition and valorization of three very important estates in Tuscany.

The purchase and restoration of an historic monastery (dating from 1000) at Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of the Siena Chianti Classico area, saw the creation of a prestigious agricultural and residential complex, the present-day Castello di Monastero.

Montalcino, the homeland of one of the most famous wines in the world, saw the acquisition and renovation of the Coldisole estate joined. Lastly, the foundation of Poggio alle Sughere in the Tuscan Maremma area.

Production philosophy. Attention focuses on territory and grapes: the wines must be an expression of these two components and highlight there best aspects through attentive management of the vineyards, harvest, vinification and ageing.
