Pago de Valcaliente Garnacha

Organic Red Wine, D.O.C. Rioja

Made from: 100% Garnacha grapes, monovarietal.
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
100% organic production. Own vineyards, certificate of organic production comprising both growing and vinification procedures.

Malolactic fermentation in new French barriques, where it remained for a total of 3 months.

Appearance: the wine displays a deep cherry red with a good density, shows violet hues and a purple rim. Clean and bright to the eye. Swirling agitation yields thick glyceric legs.
Nose: clean aroma displaying initial sweet notes of red fruit perfectly blended in with the oak. Reminiscent of autumnal forests, the falling of the leaves, peelings of roasted chestnut with an overall elegant smoky touch,clove,peper. Complex nose.
Palate: greedy and silky entrance.
It is balanced and elegant wine.
Pairing: this wine goes well with fish, red and white meat, semi-hard cheeses and goat cheeses. Can also be served on its own or in good company. A powerful wine that will not fail to impress.

Pago de Valcaliente Blanco Barrica

Organic Young White Wine, vintage. D.O.C.Rioja

Made from: selected organically grown grapes: Tempranillo Blanco 100%.
Alcohol content: 12,5% Vol.
100% organic production. Own vineyards, certificate of organic production comprising both growing and vinification procedures

Appearance: golden yellow wine.
Clean, bright and crystalline appearance. Good glycerine legs.
Nose: fragrant, very pleasant aroma. Aromatic nose of medium intensity. Prevalence of floral notes (white flowers) and ripe fruit, both white fruit: quince, pear san juan, etc ... as tropical fruits: passion fruit, pineapple, etc ... all on a background of smoked and honey. Noted for its complex aroma, subtle and delicate, where the touch of wood with fruit is fully rhythmic.
Palate: very pleasant. Entry into sweet, enveloping, spacious, with touches roasted sweet tooth and mouth. The fruit appears restrained, fair. It is smooth and silky with a balanced acidity. Nice and fine smoky aftertaste.
Bodied white wine, round and balanced in the mouth, inviting you to their consumption.
Pairing: it shows great aptitude to accompany different dishes. It is a perfect match of young and semi-cured cheeses, olives, smoked tapas, carpaccio, fresh salads, cold soups and mushrooms. Especially suitable with fish, rice and seafood in general. It is an appropriate choice for artichokes and asparagus.
Being a full-bodied white wine can accompany meats.

Pago de Valcaliente Reserva

Organic Red Wine, D.O.C. Rioja

Made from: 85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano grapes, all organic.
Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.
100% organic production. Own vineyards, certificate of organic production comprising both growing and vinification procedures.

This wine was aged in French oak casks for a 18-months period, and afterwards remained in bottle for a minimum of 18 more months to undergo a harmonization process.

Appearance: wine of cherry red color with garnet hues and shades of orange at the rim, beautifully preserved. Nice density, clean and bright. Thick and very glyceric legs will appear, when swirling the glass.
Nose: clean and straightforward wine with great aromatic intensity. Its aroma of red and black fruit, wild fruit and black berries is perfectly blended in with the light toasted, smoky, caramelized and spicy notes provided by its aging in French oak casks.
As you swirl your glass, the wine will evolve progressively and yield different sensations, all of them pleasant.

Palate: well-balanced, powerful wine with nice acidity. Presence of sweet, embracing and perfectly polished tannins. This wine is round and caresses the palate with soft and silky sensations. Each sip leaves a lingering aftertaste with nice persistence displaying retronasal aromas of ripe red fruit, spices and light toasty hints.
Pairing: a well-crafted, balanced wine with concentration, a good choice to accompany red meet, feathered game and roasts. It is also recommended to pair with stewed or spiced meat dishes as it enhances the hidden flavors of the meat. Goes perfectly with soups, legumes sausages, jerky, semi-hard cheeses, smoked fish, grilled vegetables etc.
Also recommended to be served on its own or in good company.

About us

Company details

Built in 1998, it has a wine making capacity of 600,000 litres. We have our own ecological wine production process, which sets us aside from other wineries as 100% of the creative process is in our hands.

The winery consists of three buildings; preparation, maturing and bottling.

In the first building we have the stainless steel and concrete vats whose capacity ranges between 500 and 50,000 litres, which allows for a well-controlled fermentation and preparation process.

In the maturing buildings there are some 600 French and American oak barrels.

Our bottle store of 90,000 bottles is also located here.
