Blanco 2015

VINEYARDS: 85% Viura and 15% Tempranillo blanco. All the grapes come from the same plot, located in a high altitude area of Haro. Stony alluvial soil with a mantle of pebbles at the surface and a deep limestone layer (basic), on a slight slope. Low yield per vine and minimum tillage to avoid deconstructing the soil. Excellent vegetative balance and bunches receive adequate exposure to sunlight.
HARVEST: The grapes were handpicked in 200 kg crates and hand sorted at the winery.
WINEMAKING: Light pressing, without needing to work in an inert atmosphere, some work in the open, and about 50% of stems in the pressing. The objective being a more Burgundian style that highlights the qualities of the land, over the varietal expression. Minimum contribution of SO2, spontaneous fermentation. All alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at a constant temperature of 16ºC. Then, half of the volume spends five months in French oak (not roasted, steam bending) with its lees, and half of the volume is also aged with its lees in a concrete tank.
TASTING NOTES: New gold color, very attractive, clean and bright. Intense but delicate nose, white flowers and fresh fruit, especially white fruit. Certain herbaceous character, like freshly cut grass. More pure notes coming from the soil -chalk and wet limestone- can also be appreciated. The onset on the mouth is wide, with a noticeable ageing on lees. Anything but heavy, a citrus acidity appears soon that makes it agile and appealing.
ANALYTICAL PARAMETERS: Alcohol: 13.10%
Ph: 3.35
Residual sugar: 1.3 g/l.
No OF BOTTLES: 35,000

Vendimia Seleccionada 2015

VINEYARDS: Tempranillo (50%) and Garnacha (50%) grapes from 30 year old vines planted in the hills of the Ebro river valley. Tempranillo vineyards are in the high foot hills of the Sierra de Cantabria and the Garnacha ones in the Najerilla river valley, at the foot hills of the Sierra de la Demanda.
HARVEST: Hand picked and harvested in 200 kg crates. Handsorted at the winery.
WINEMAKIN: 3 days of cold prefermentative maceration, followed by fermentation in coneshaped temperatura controlled stainless stell vats, with daily remontages and delestage. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak barriques, in which it further aged for 5 months.
SOIL: Ochre lime stone-clayish soils for the Tempranillo and red colored ferric-clayish soils of the Garnacha vineyards.
TASTING NOTES: Deep cherry red colored. Notes of freshly crashed grapes, raspberry, the red strawberry fruit of the Garnacha with lactic and toasted notes that result in a fresh and fruit driven wine. Good body, gentle in the palate, with silky tannins and a good acidity that pushes its freshness. Long, red fruit wrapped, aftertaste.
ANALITICAL PARAMETERS: Alcohol: 14.2%
Ph: 3.65
Az. red.: 1.2 g/l.

MONTES OBARENES 2013

VINEYARDS: 15% White Tempranillo, the remainder is Viura, grown in the surrounding areas of Haro and influenced by the mountain range Montes Obarenes.
HARVEST: Grapes were handpicked in 200 kg crates and sorted by hand at the winery.
WINEMAKING: Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. Then 60% is aged on fine lees in a new French oak barrel and 40% in an ovoid concrete tank for 12 months. Aged in bottle for 14 months.
SOIL: Vineyards grow in calcareous-clay soil with a thin layer of small loose stones on the surface.
TASTING NOTES: Color is clean and bright aged gold. Very attractive to the eye. On the nose, it boasts high intensity, and is complex and elegant from the beginning. White and stone fruits, along with mineral notes. A spectacular experience for the palate with great initial volume and citric acidity, which structures this wine and makes it savory and fresh. The aftertaste brings back the clear notes of fruit felt before in the nose.
ANALYTICAL PARAMETERS: Alcohol: 13.6%
Ph: 3.33
Residual Sugar: 1.8 g/l

RIOJA WINERY

FINE WINES OF RIOJA
With an annual production of less than 200,000 bottles, Gómez Cruzado is the boutique winery of el Barrio de la Estación. Our project brings together all the ingredients necessary for creating wines of extremely high quality: classified origin and marked typicity, dedicated to the fine style of Haro’s Barrio de la Estación.

WINES REFLECTING THEIR TERROIR
The quality of a wine is the sum of many small details, all of which are necessary. We work in the vineyard and in the winery with the utmost respect for the personality of our grapes and the unique character of each vineyard. Our objective is to create wines rooted in their terroir – the most faithful expression of their identity. Before the grapes from each plot arrive to the winery, we already know in which wine they will be used.

OENOLOGY TODAY
An intense overhaul of the facilities was completed in 2005. The winery is now prepared for the 21st century: advances in knowledge and new techniques are applied to our daily work aiming for the utmost precision as we create wines with clear aromas and pure flavor.
