Bodegas Larchago is a family company founded by the successors of Bodegas Chavarri in Lapuebla de Labarca (Alava).
Since 1882, four generations have tended their vineyards and made their own wines here. The winery was the first to be registered as a wine bottler in the Rioja Alavesa sub-area.
GRUPO bodegas LARCHAGO combines tradition with modernity in both its wines and its facilities, maintaining a family atmosphere with the cutting-edge style introduced by the new generations.
-Estate-owned vineyards: If there is something that sets this group apart, it is the way its wines are controlled from the start, from the way the vineyards are tended and the selective grape harvest to its painstaking winemaking practices.
-Location: Short but intense winters with a sun exposure that is neither excessive nor scarce. What gives quality to the vineyards —and consequently the wines— is the location of the former, at altitudes between 400 and 600 metres above sea level.
-Tradition and experience: Each wine is different and requires the winery´s experience to know how to react to changes in the weather and adverse conditions. These are the factors on which the quality of each vintage depends.
