Vinification: after fermenting in steel for around 12-15 days at a controlled temperature, the wine remains on the skins (submerged cap technique) for 30-40 days
Ageing: 24 months in Slavonian oak casks, 6 months in concrete tanks and 6 months in the bottle (no filtration pre-bottling)
Bottles produced: 4500
Tasting notes: ruby with brick-red nuances. Traditional style nose, showing ripe fruit and chocolate. Full-bodied with great structure on the palate, and lingering, elegant tannins.
Serving temperature: 16-17°C.

Tasting notes: intense ruby red, with a fruity, fresh, youthful nose hinting at the varietal’s leathery overtones. On the palate it is young, slightly spicy and elegant.

Tasting notes: straw yellow with greenish tinges. Fresh and fruity on the nose, conjuring up exotic fruit. Enjoys good acidity and freshness on the palate.

About us

Company details

Ours is a small wine cellar located at the heart of the Barolo growing area.
It is run by the third generation of wine producers in the Bovio family, who were originally from the Annunziata hamlet.

Gianfranco Bovio began to look after his father Alessandro’s holdings in the 1970s, renovating the old cellars and dedicating himself with passion to the making of wines grown on the estate vineyards that stretch out over 6.5 hectares.
Now it is the turn of Alessandra and her husband Marco Boschiazzo to continue the family tradition, with the co-operation of winemaker Matteo Franchi, and Robert Tofan front of house.

The company philosophy is strongly embedded in tradition and terroir, from the scrupulous tending of the vineyards, through to the ageing of the wines in large oak casks.

Our production includes two Barolo crus - Arborina and Gattera - and a classic-style Barolo made from grapes grown on vineyards in La Morra, Barolo and Castiglione Falletto, plus Nebbiolo Firagnetti, Barbera d'Alba Ciotto and Regiaveja, Dolcetto d'Alba Dabbene and the white Langhe Bianco Alessandro.
