Diamant Blanc

Metodo Classico Millesimato

Sparkling wine made from a special cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes vinified off the skins, which then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle brought on by the addition of a measured dosage of fermenting agents, the so-called liqueur de tirage.
Following a period of maturing and ageing on the yeasts lasting an average of 36/40 months, the operations of remuage and dégorgement are performed , with the addition of the liqueur d’expedition, the special sugar-based liquid which determines its final taste.

100% Arneis

Soil:
sandy-clayey

Colour:
intense straw yellow with greenish nuances

Nose:
delicate, fruity, fresh and slightly grassy

Taste:
dry, with good acidity and structure (for a white), luscious and lingering

Maturing:
in steel barrels

Ageing Potential:
moderate, from 3 to 5 years depending on the vintage

Food Pairings:
excellent as an aperitif, it also goes well with hors-d’oeuvres and all fish dishes

Recommended Glass:
wide-bowled tulip

Serving Temperature:
9-10°C.

Osè

Rosè Wine

Left briefly to macerate on the skins, a blend of red Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes produces a juice with a lovely light pink colour tending to cherry-red.
On the mouth it is well-balanced and savoury, showing great freshness accompanied by elegant tannins that contribute to good length of flavour.

Barbera 50% - Nebbiolo 50%

sandy, clayey

Colour:
soft pink tending to cherry-red

Nose:
fresh and appealing, featuring floral and fruity notes

Taste:
dry, well-structured, delicate and elegant, soft and extremely light

in steel barrels

Ageing Potential:
3-4 anni

Food Pairings:
excellent as an aperitif, and a perfect match for light starters and all fish dishes, as well as delicate soft cheeses

Recommended Glass:
open tulip

Serving Temperature:
not too chilled, 8-10 °C.

Company details

FRANCESCO SCANAVINO operates in the production of special local wines from Langa, Roero and Monferrato.

Business
The grapes are carefully selected in the finest growing areas, on SOUTH, SOUTHWEST facing vineyards all planted several decades ago; the bunches undergo thinning each year, leaving only the very best for the harvest.

Vinification
Vinification and bottling are performed by technicians who are leaders in their sector, using the best wine-making technology to ensure that everything is carried out in keeping with the criteria that produce superior wines..

Winemaker
Angelo Torrielli was born in Paris on 18/12/1947. Since graduating from the wine-making high school in Alba, he has worked for a number of leading wineries in Italy. Currently he follows the production of the entire Francesco Scanavino range of wines and sparkling wines.
