Alcohol content: 36% and 38% Alc. /Vol. Type of product: Brandy de Jerez Solera Reserva Sugar content: 15 gr./l. Production: Selected grape spirits distilled from excellent white wines made with Airen and Palomino grapes. Aged in American oak casks under the traditional system of Soleras until it attains the minimum age required of a Brandy Solera Reserva, three years.
Tasting notes: Amber with hues of gold. It has the complex “estery” nose that is characteristic of good distilling, with a hint of dried fruits and burnt wood. The palate is balanced and persistent, with a soft, savoury and slightly bitter finish.
Suggestions for consumption: An ideal after-dinner drink. It is equally satisfying at room temperature in the traditional snifter or on ice in a glass.
Alcohol content: 37,5 % Alc. /Vol. Production: This rum is first aged for 5 years in American oak casks at its place of origin in the Caribbean (Guyana and Barbados). Then it is shipped to Williams & Humberts installations in Jerez (Spain), where the rum is aged for another 3 years in casks that have previously held the internationally renowned Dos Cortados palo cortado sherry (aged for 20 years, as certified by the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Regulatory Council).
Tasting notes: This two-stage process produces old rum of unique characteristics, with a matchless bouquet and flavour. It is exceptionally smooth.
Suggestions for consumption: Excellent in a balloon glass either neat or on ice. Superb in elegant mixed drinks and cocktails.
Type of grape: Tempranillo and Garnacha Alcohol content: 13% Alc. /Vol. Type of grape: Red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero
Production: After fermentation the wine is aged for 12-18 months in French and American oak casks. It then matures an additional 12 months in the bottle
Tasting notes: Bright, clean colours of deep red with a purple edge. An intense and smooth complex nose of ripe berries, spices and vanilla. Round and balanced on the palate, a smooth, elegant finish. A powerful wine with very ripe fruit flavours and assertive notes of oak.
Suggestions for consumption: Best consumed between 17º and 19º C. Ideal with meat and cheese.
Bodegas Williams & Humbert is located in the geographical triangle formed by the cities of Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. This triangle has a unique microclimate owing to the influences of the Guadalquivir and Guadalete rivers, giving rise to the term “the Mesopotamian valley of western Andalusia”.
At present, Williams & Humbert is comprised of the central installations (Europes largest wine cellar), the vineyards and Sovisur, their distributing company in Spain.
The family have handed down longstanding winemaking traditions and sales expertise in international markets from one generation to another.
Two different generations currently work side by side with prestigious professionals, comprising a dynamic, energetic team with a great deal of business initiative while maintaining the traditions and knowledge acquired through a century and a half of experience in Jerez.
Bodegas Williams & Humbert now sell their products in over 80 countries and they are developing an ambitious diversification project in the sector of high quality food products. The firms subsidiary company SOVISUR distributes their products – the Canasta and Dry Sack Sherries and the Gran Duque de Alba brandy amongst the most prominent – throughout Spain. The diversification has additionally led them to add products from other quality demarcations such as Ribera del Duero (Marqués de Polavieja red wines), Rioja (Viña Paul and Peñazola red wines), Rueda (Viña Saltés) and Albariño (Espírito da Terra).
Their innovative projects also include Crema de Alba, the worlds only cream liqueur made from Solera Gran Reserva Jerez brandy and the rums Dos Maderas and Malabar, products that merge two cultures and which are made with a double ageing process.
The firms recent entrance in the food sector with the Medina del Encinar brand, comprising pure sheeps-milk cheese and Iberian pork products, has enjoyed significant success.
