ODDONE

DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA

This wine was born about in 2005, from the idea that it is not always necessary to drink a complex, structured wine, but that simplicity and agreability are perfect characteristics for certain lighthearted or relaxing occasions.

Hence the name Oddone, borrowed from an 11th century character from Bertinoro, who loved wine and fun. The label bears the “colonna Delle anella” (the column of rings), ancient symbol of Bertinoro’s hospitality.

IL COLOMBARONE

DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA

This wine perfectly represents la Viola, made by harvesting grapes from middle-aged vines. This cru of Sangiovese was the estate’s first production in 1998, and it is the ideal wine for introducing friends to this grape variety. The label depicts “via Colombarone” which rises from the plains up to the hill of Bertinoro, surrounded by vineyards.

P.HONORII

DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA

A wine that tells the story of our region, Emilia-Romagna, land of culture and knowledge. It boasts a fruity intensity, nuanced extraction and  unique sense of balance, obtained from the estate’s oldest vines.

Its name reveals a specific geographical and historical connotation: “Petra Honorii” was how Bertinoro was known during the gothic wars.

About us

Company details

The Gabellini family moved from the inland Romagna to Bertinoro and in 1962 purchased the land with Sangiovese and Albana vineyards, then bush trained. Wine was an important part of the farming tradition, and serving it on the table meant sharing with guests one’s love and pride in the fruits of one’s labour. Even back then, it was not just refreshment, but way of uniting people, a chance to spend quality time together.

We have always believed in organic farming, which we have practiced with certification since 1999. No chemical insecticides are used on our crops, preserving public health and that of the vines themselves, enabling each vineyard to maintain its natural equilibrium, its aromas intact, its vibrant colours and enveloping harmonious atmosphere.

For us, wine is a tradition and passion that permanently binds us to our land. We firmly believe that the history, experience, dedication and professionalism of the people who work it all come together in the quality and character of the wines it produces, making them unique. Walking through our vineyards, you can feel the timeless atmosphere and perceive the deep devotion of an entire family to its land.

Walking through our vineyards, you can feel the timeless atmosphere and perceive the deep devotion of an entire famility to its land.
