More than 130 years ago, the immigrants Antonio and
Giuseppe Perini arrived in Brazil bringing from Italy the art
of transforming the grape into wine, alongside with the image of the Holy Guardian Angel to bless the Valley where the Perini Family
would live. They believed that their love for the land joined
by the blessing of their Saint, would give a special taste to the
grapes they harvested. Legend or not, for four generations,
the Perinis keep on producing excellent quality wines.
However, the wine production started later, with João Perini
in 1928, and from then on the expansion started and, little by little,
the improvement of the elaboration of the process in all aspects,
since the growth of new variety of vines until the final product.
It was in 1970 that Benildo Perini, Giuseppe’s grandson and present director of the winery, started the transformation of the small family business into a company, bottling his wine with the brand Jota Pe in honor of his father João Perini. The family business from Farroupilha earns then a new structure, following companies’ standards, with the objective to supply several areas of the market in several states of Brazil.
Yet, in garibaldi, the activities start in 1996, when Perini outsources an infrastructure to elaborate its Sparkling Wines Casa Perini, a high quality line that uses, exclusively, wine grapes of their own
In the same year, the brand casa Perini is also launched for the Fine Wines of the Winery, resulting in products of strong personality and great complexity.
In 2005, Perini acquires the De Lantier Winery in Garibaldi (Bacardi unit – Martini Brazil), increasing its total physical capacity from 7,5 to 16 million litters, besides verticalizing the elaboration of their Sparkling Wines Casa Perini and improve their technological equipment used for vinification.
Nowadays, Perini Winery is made up of 12 hectares of vineyards located in Garibaldi and 80 hectares in Farroupilha, adding up a total area of 92 hectares, considering that part of this area has the differential of being produced with grapes from certified European vines. In this system, the vines are sustained by “Y-shaped” structures which guarantee their own elaboration of Premium sparkling Wines, Licqour and Perini Juice, Casa Perini Wines and Sparkling Wines, Jota Pe wines and Juice, Santos Anjos Wines and Grappa liquor Pretinha.
