Yet in Italy, the Family used to cultivate vines and elaborate wine on small amounts. After their arrival in Brazil, in the 80s, past the establishment and subsistence, the love and dedication on working with grapes and wines spoke louder. Therefore, the cultivation of trellised vines on a bigger extension was taken forward. The immigrant Antonio activities were continued by one of his sons - Giovanni - that, besides the main occupation related to the vineyards, kept producing wine, but for family consumption only. The major part of the grape production came to be commercialized for Sierra Gaúcha wineries.
Following Nono Giovannis path, the patriarch of the Pizzatos Wines and Vines owner family, Mr. Plínio Pizzato, always passionate about viticulture and viniculture, has been producing grapes since he was a teenager. Initially, Plinio worked with his father at their property in the town of Monte Belo do Sul, moving to the present estate in the 60s, located at Vale dos Vinhedos. Plínio also kept the production tradition initiated by Mr. Giovanni, with a small amount of grapes and wines for personal consumption, selling the major part of the grape production for the local wineries.
In 1998, Mr. Plínio and his familys old dream - of producing fine wines for commercialization - comes true based on a joint project with their children Flavio, Flávia, Jane e Ivo (in memoriam). In that year, the Pizzato Wines and Vines is legally and materially constituted, from family investments.
