Maccari winery was founded in 1898 and since that date has been handed down from generation to generation to the care and passion to make wine. Currently the company is directed by: Dr . Maccari Italo as Chairman and his children Silvia and Philip as delegates directors who represent the fourth generation . Surrounded by vineyards, the historic venue , is Visnà di Vazzola (TV), there, are produced all wines in stem and still wines in the bottle typical of the area named Piave , land of refined red wines and home of the native wine Raboso.
Raboso is a particular wine to which the family Maccari has always been linked. This type of wine is produced by more than 100 years by Maccari, even when no one believed in it and was more used as a blending wine, having the intrinsic characteristic of possessing a strong acidity. Wine for this reason, very hard to produce and to " tame". The company produces it in limited quantity and only in the best vintages, as it requires long aging in big barrels.The procedural guideline provides three years , but the company does not sell it never before 7-8 years after the vintage. Recently, Maccari also produces always in a limited quantity Raboso PASSITO EDOARDO® dedicated to the birth of the son of Silvia Maccari who represents the 5th generation. Equipped of big barrels made on Slavonia oak, and a small barrique has a plant that produces 6000 bottles / hour and is equipped with a mechanism that allows the pre -evacuation of the air before the capping , to avoid any oxidation . In May 2008 was also inaugurated a wonderful tasting room of 250 squared meters and obtained from the barn of the manor house next to the original wine-making department of the company, below which it is possible to see the concrete tanks for the wines decanting and storage.
The Maccari winery producing quality wines with complete respect of the traditional enology rules, since 1898, today the company is a leader in the national market and a pioneer in the distribution of wine in kegs, a type of packaging that was a true pioneer at the end of the Eighties.
The company's strength lies in the quality of the proposed product, backed by a constantly stocked warehouse which currently has a total of 100,000 kegs. Booming and increase are also lines of wines in bottle, which the company offers both with own labels, with custom labels and in exclusive for large business groups.
