Garganega.

TASTING NOTES:
Maceration with the skins of the garganega grapes gives the wine an unusual intense and vibrant amber colour to this wine. The bouquet has pleasant notes of citrus fruits
including pink grapefruit.. This wine is particularly fresh with good minerality and good structure. Herbal notes can be flet on the aftertaste.

FOOD & WINE MATCHING:
Perfect for fish based starters such as raw fish and salads with fruits. This wine also marries well with asparagus risotto and light dishes.

 ABOUT B:
After over 30 years experience with organic wine-making, in 2006 Amadio and Natalino decided to experiment with a wine without added sulphates once again putting ht elocal grape variety, Gargaega, to the test. Thanks to the accurate selection of only grapes of outstanding quality, and to the meticulous detail paid throughout the wine-making process, they created a wine of “times gone by” which expresses both tradition and modern technology. WIthout adding yeasts or sulphates, B is a vibrant, easy-drinking wine. We suggest drinking B within a year of bottling and within a few hours of opening paying particular attention to storage conditions in order to preserve the wines characteristics.

FORMATS AVAILABLE:
750ml

SHELF LIFE:
Due to the lack of sulphates, B is best drunk within 2 years of bottling.

AMARONE VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO DOC

SOIL TYPE:
clayey and chalky soils on the highest slopes where vines can be grown.

PRUNING SYSTEM:
Pergola corta veronese

GRAPE VAREITIES:
Corvina 70%, Rondinella 30%.

YIELD:
10 tonnes / hectare

HARVEST:
During the harvest, we select loose bunches that are mature and suitable for drying.

WINE-MAKING TECHNIQUE:
The grapes are left in small wooden crates for 5 to 6 months during which the sugars and aromatic components are concentrated. The grapes are then pressed. Fermentation is carried out in steel vats at a controlled temperature for 25 to 35 days. The wine is then transferred to oak barrels where it is left to mature for 3 to 4 years. During this time we taste the wine regularly from each individual barrel or barrique to understand the evolution of the wine. Only after careful assessment do we decide the final blend of the wine.

TASTING NOTES:
When first bottled, this wine has a vibrant red colour with purple tints. After several years of aging, this becomes warmer tending towards garnet. The wine is full-bodied, tannic and has aromas of ripe prunes, blackberries, cherry syrup and spices such as cinnamon and cloves.

WINE & FOOD MATCHING:
The qualities described above are appreciated best when served with red meats, game and mature cheeses. It may also be enjoyed at the end of a meal served with biscuits with almonds.

SERVING TEMPERATURE:
18 °C

ALCOHOL CONTENT:
15 % vol

ABOUT AMARONE:
Amarone is the flagship wine of the Veneto region and so for us, a family with a strong bond with the local area and traditions, it would be unthinkable to not make an Amarone wine. The Amarone is bottled under the “Corte del Pozzo” brand that expresses the importance of our relationship with the local grape growers who would meet around the well on our property back in the 1900s. Today we work with the same families we collaborated with 30 years ago. With the Corte del Pozzo line we dedicate a parte of our history to these people.

FORMATS AVAILABLE:
0,75lt in boxes of 6

SHELF LIFE:
Traditionally a wine that should be aged for a long time in the bottle, our Amarone may be cellared for 10 to 15 years.
