Argentiera Doc Bolgheri Superiore

When you say Bolgheri is like saying charm. Who has the practice of this tiny piece of the Maremma and met some wines, and recalls the land, cuts of light, the sea, the profiles, the mood, here are the thoughts that magically start to run fast and the race will evoke, dream, thrill and subtle fascination.

Argentiera, our Doc Bolgheri Superiore, is a wine with a rich and silky taste whose grapes come from the most dedicated vineyards of Tenuta Argentiera. The long fining in Frenc oak barrique, the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon and the unique terroir of Tenuta Argenitera, make this wine one of the highest expressions of the Bolgheri Area.

Poggio ai Ginepri

Poggio ai Ginepri - Bolgheri Doc - born from separate vinification of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot extracted by a soft pressing. A nice wine, good structure and higher concentration. Has a broad and deep olfactory landscape that opens in a very frank and immediate. Structure intense, but also beautiful softness and good housekeeping executive.

Truly a classy wine.

Monovarietal Cru

Argentiera's Cru represent the top expressions of the winery and its terroir, but most of all the strong bond between Argentiera and the Fratini Family, who not idly chose to name these wines like their young descendants. They are unique wines, from mono-varietal grapes, grown in a single vineyard, the best and most suitable for the single varietal. They share the same exceptional nature: they are produced just in the best vintages and the grape selection is strictly accurate. An important aging of at least three years, of which 2 in oak barrels, crowns all the these efforts.

About us

Company details

Along the charming coast of the Alta Maremma, to the south-west of Florence and about 100 km from the city, in the small and prestigious DOC Bolgheri area lies Tenuta Argentiera, which is part of the old Estate of Donoratico that once belonged to the Florentine Serristori family.

In Etruscan times, the plateau of the Tenuta was rich in canals, natural springs and silver mines, from which the estate’s present name derives, which made the area an important mining and agricultural centre.

The Tenuta is now owned by Stanislaus Turnauer and brothers Corrado and Marcello Fratini.
