100% sangiovese.

TYPE OF SOIL
The land on which the vineyard is situated has medium consistency characteristics with a high proportion of clay-limestone content; situated at an altitude between 200 and 260 metres above sea level facing east/southe- ast.

TRAINING SYSTEM
Espalier with Guyot pruning.

PLANTING DENSITY
5500 vines per hectare.

GRAPE HARVESTING
The harvest took place during the first days of October.
The collection is made strictly by hand placing the grape bunches in small crates weighing 12 kg each.

WINE-MAKING
The grapes are carefully selected by hand on long sorting tables.
The grapes reach the vats by natural gravity flow: where the must concludes the fermentation, macerating on the skins for approximately a month without temperature control or the addition of selected yeasts.
Refinement
The wine evolves, on its fine lees, for 12 months in small tonneaux barrels in French oak. Aged in the bottle for 6 months.

13, 5% vol.

TASTING NOTES
The wine is a brilliant ruby red and excellent transparency. One denotes the perfume of raspberries, mulberries and wild cherries with a scent of vanilla, ginger and a nuance of star aniseed. The taste is fragrant, delicate, lightly minted, vibrant and airy; With only one sip, which is so gratifying, it begs for yet another.
It is perfectly suited to white meats and game: lamb chops, rabbit fricassee, chicken chasseur.

Full-bodied and rich immediately reminding us of Romagna and Sangiovese. A hint of wild strawberries and ginger, with balsamic notes and a subtle almond finish

Took place during the first fifteen days of September.
Rigorously carried out by hand and placed in small crates weighing 12, kg each.

WINE-MAKING
The selection of the grapes is done by hand on long sorting tables.
The grapes fall into conical oak vats: and without temperature management or the addition of selected yeasts the must concludes the process of fermentation and continues to macerate on the skins for approximately one month.

AGING
The wine evolves on its fine lees for 12 months in French oak barrels and ages in glass for 6 months.

VISUAL EXAMINATION
Intense red colour, with purple reflections.

OLFACTORY
Clear, fresh flavour; majestic yet persuasive and intensely harmonious.
Glazed blackberry, vanilla and spices can be perceived.

GUSTATIVE
Smooth and harmonious: oak, spices and red fruits are perfectly balanced.
Maramia is a vibrant and elegant wine with very few rivals, produce of virtuous viticulture and oenology.
The carefully observed biodynamic procedures enhance its smoothness and pureness.

The story of the Tenuta Mara or Mara Wine Estate began on the day that Giordano Emendatori decided to fulfill his great passion, a passion for wine, devoting himself to the planning and construction of an estate, naming it after his wife Mara, ‘She who has always been an important support in all the adventures of my life.’
 
Tenuta Marais not a simple vineyard, but a complex and whole organism which, from its beginning, embraces the holistic principles of biodynamic farming.
