The history

Luigi Einaudi: biography

Italian History changed, after 2nd World War, thanks to Luigi Einaudi and to his efforts to restore Italian finances and the principles of legality.

He was highly qualified as a politician, bursar and economist, but despite his honour he wouldn’t forget his humble manners.

The “Professor”, as he became affectionately known in Dogliani, never neglected his vineyards, notwithstanding his numerous professional obligations, which eventually led to the demanding responsibility of President of the first Republic of Italy (1948).

The residents of Dogliani remember that he was never absent from San Giacomo during the grape harvest.
