From mother to daughter, it is a feminine passing of the torch that marks the last decades of the history of Azienda Agricola La Ghidina, in Lugana di Sirmione.
In the heart of Lugana wine production tradition, the company became “family owned” in the first half of the seventies, with the acquisition by Ancilla.
Ancilla left the farm to her daughter, Maria Teresa Rossi, who always managed it by personally following the vineyards and the production.
In 2003 “La Ghidina” and its native grapes were inherited by the next generation. Luisella Benedetti had to face the choice of selling the company or to start producing Lugana. The instinct and her passion for the wine prevailed, a new story started together with a new evolution for this Company.
Luisella decided to secure the cooperation of connoisseurs of grapes and vineyards, to give birth to the “Ancilla” project; on a piece of land where natural production and winemaking can find the perfect setting.
