Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel·lo

Elaboration
The three grape varieties are fermented separately and then blended before a second fermentation process which takes place in the bottle for more than twelve months.

Recommended Serving Temperature: 6ºC
Alcohol Content: 11.5%

Food and Wine pairing
Crustaceans, Fruit acid, Berries, Ham, Boiled ham, Molluscan shell, Whitefish, Pizza, Grilled Chicken, Confectionery

Aspect
Brilliant appearance. Gives off a considerable amount of small and medium-sized bubbles. A good quantity of carbon dioxide causes persistent foam to form in the glass. The colour is pale straw yellow.

Aroma
Intense. Tertiary aromas from the second fermentation mingle with the aromas from the primary fermentation to give a distinctive bouquet.

Taste
Frank on the palate with tastes developed in the bottle. Good body. Smooth and silky, the carbonic content keeps it fresh and lively, providing a long finish.

Clos de Torribas Crianza Pinord - D.O. Penedès

Tempranillo

Elaboration
Fermented slowly in stainless steel tanks – skin soak of around 15 days. The wine was then aged in oak for around 10 months. Bottle aged for more than one year to achieve more rounded tannins.

Recommended Serving Temperature : 18ºC
Alcohol Content: 12.5%

Food and Wine pairing
Rice mountain, Capon and Poularde, Deer, Cooked soups and stews and other, Quail and partridge, Rabbit and hare, Cured meats, Sirloin, Sirloin Steak, Stews and meat sauce, Hamburger, wild boar, Ham, Duck, Pig's trotters, Roas...

Aspect
Brilliant dark red colour with touches of ochre.

Aroma
The oak stands out coupled with intense spice. If we swirl the wine in the glass, we get aromas which are typical of the Tempranillo grape variety as well as fruits of the forest.

Taste
A gentle palate with moderate ageing. The oak is well balanced to maintain the wine’s freshness. Touches of cedar and oak. As the wine ages, smooth tannins come out in the retro nasal stage.

Elaboration
Wine made within the Terra Alta wine appellation (D.O. Terra Alta) from organic vineyards. Once the grapes are picked, they are taken to the winery where they are quickly pressed to extract the must. The must is fermented at low temperatures for for about three weeks to extract and preserve the varietal expression. Then we make a transfer, but retain the finest wine lees own, for 2 months for soft battonages, for greater presence on the palate, finishing perform filtration and stabilization before bottling.

Alcohol Content: 12%

Food and Wine pairing
Rice fish, Mixed rice, Oriental rice, Chocolate, Crustaceans, Rice salads, Pasta salads, Molluscan shell, Pasta with marinara sauce, Whitefish, Fish light, Pizza, Processed cheese

Aspect
Bright clean pale tones with touches of yellow and grey.

Aroma
Intense fruity aromas of banana and apple, but also citric fruit and dried fruit and nuts which are very true to the Grenache grape variety.

Taste
This is a powerful white wine in the mouth, well structured with optimum balance between acidity and body. A very long and pleasant finish.

About us

Company details

Bodegas Pinord is a family firm with a wine-making tradition that goes back many years. Today, two generations are working side by side with the aid of a magnificent workforce helping to make and age our wines and cavas (Champagne method sparkling wine). In addition, there are some fifty people selling and distributing Pinord’s products.

The winery, which is still to this day in its original location, next to the Vilafranca del Penedès train station, soon stood out for the quality of its bulk wines, which were sent around Spain. The winery actually had its own pipeline which went under the rails to fill up the tanks in the waiting trains.

Little by little, from 1942, the first wines started to gain fame and prestige and year after year, generation after generation, the family vineyards have grown. The native grape varieties have developed and the family name has become intrinsically linked to Penedès wines.

Currently, Pinord owns a winery which is capable of making more than five million bottles a year all carrying the family’s seal of approval.
