Ulrich Langguth - 2015 Riesling dry "3 Terraces"

The classified 1st Growth vineyard called “Traben Gaispfad” is a steep slope with grey devonian slate soil, spread over 3 terraces which are planted with RIESLING vines of between 40 – 70 years of age. This great vineyard produced over the last hundred years elegant Riesling wines of exquisite finesse, with a strong influence of minerals and a delightful acidity. Only healthy grapes were harvested in mid-October and gently processed for this dry Riesling quality wine. The juice fermented in oak barrels and in stainless steel tanks and was to fill the end of June on the whole yeast. This Riesling is not "bone-dry". It´s fine fruit, the slight spiciness and its harmonious acidity ensure the freshness that leaves you wanting more. On the nose, refreshing citrus paired with green apple, the fragrance is clear and precise. Enjoy this refreshing light wine with salad, fish, grilled white meat or simply by itself.
Awarded in 2016: CWSA GOLD Medal

RHEINGAU Hans Lang - 2013 Wisselbrunnen Riesling dry - VDP Grosse Lage

Picked with 92° Oechsle, the 2013 Wisselbrunnen Riesling dry offers a quite clear and precise bouquet of ripe pineapples and white peach aromas that are underlined by mineral flavours. Full-bodied, purely mineral and piquantly fresh, this persistent and salty Rheingau classic finishes with aromatic white peach flavours and has an aging potential of more than 10 years. Kaufmann/Raps did not sell the wine as Grosses Gewächs, although they could have done it because, as Eva put it “when the wine was struggling to become dry, we considered it was too lean for a Grand cru”. In the end the Wisselbrunnen fermented to dry, but too late for the examination board of the VDP. The wine was bottled in August 2014 as VDP Grosse Lage.
