Born in Rome, of a Sicilian family, graduated in Law at the University La Sapienza di Roma majoring in Financial Science and Tax Law. At the end of ‘70s she found herself in the midst of the wine and gourmet world. She created one of the first Michelin star Restaurants in Rome and managed a cellar with over 11.000 bottles and more than 750 labels of the finest wines in the world.
The fascination of the wine world totally capturated her. So began her career together with those who are today the most important italian wine-makers and guides.
In the ‘90s she moved to Montalcino and began working for some important Tuscany Wineries managing their imaging, marketing, public relations and export.
In 2003 she was the first woman to receive the Oscar from AIS (Associazione Italiana Sommelier) as the Best Italian Sommelier.
In 2007 one of the most important German magazines, Der Feinschmecker, dedicated several pages on her life as a sommelier in Rome.
The secret of her success in three words is:
Humility, Sensitivity and Respect.
Today with “PATRIZIA LEONARDI WINE SELECTION” she promotes the imaging, the culture and exporting, in particular to emerging countries, of italian wine in the world. Her selected wines are representative of the finest wines and vines in Italy.
