Montecillo Crianza

More than one hundred and forty years after its foundation, Bodegas Montecillo continues year in year out to demonstrate its commitment to excellence and wines of the finest quality. Montecillo Crianza is a classic Rioja; complex and balanced, it is ideal for any occasion.

 Vintage: 2011
Grape variety: 90% Tempranillo 10% Graciano
Origin: D.O.Ca Rioja, selected vineyards in the Rioja Alta area.

PRODUCTION
Controlled alcoholic fermentation at 24°C, contact with skins for 12 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in underground tanks, followed by a period of 18 months in semi-new, highest quality American oak casks. The wine is then aged in the bottle for 6 months before it leaves the winery.

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS
COLOR: Violet red, bright and vivacious.

AROMA AND TASTE: Very powerful in the nose, tempting with a very clean background of American wood with coconut and notes of blackberry at the finish and touches of eucalyptus which make it deeper and more complex.

 Very full-bodied and expressive in the mouth, integrated perfectly to combine the wood with the fruit compote. Long aftertaste with a predominance of excellent quality wood which embraces the ripe, sharp, explosive fruit.

OUR RECOMMENDATION
Ideal with stews and casseroles, cold meats and all kinds of meat and roasts typical of the Mediterranean diet.

Fino Quinta

Grape variety: Palomino Fino.
Type of wine: Fino.
Area of production: D.O. Jerez.
Average Age: 4 years.
Alcohol content: 15º.

PRODUCTION
White wine vinification, with the grapes transported in cases to prevent them splitting before pressing. Gentle pressing and racking of the must for 12 hours and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25°C. Ageing following the traditional system of “Criaderas and Soleras”, in American oak casks.

TASTING NOTES
A pale yellow color with bright, luminous greenish glints. In the nose, a sharp, almond-like aroma, gentle and saline. In the mouth, dry, sharp, mildly acidic and slightly bitter.

STORAGE
In well-ventilated places, away from sources of heat.

OUR RECOMMENDATION
Ideal as an aperitif.  Perfect accompaniment for cured cheeses, olives or almonds, or as an alternative to white wine with seafood and all types of fish. Should be drunk chilled, between 8-12°C.

GRAPE VARIETIES

100% Tempranillo. Made exclusively from the native Tempranillo grape, carefully selected and hand-picked in Rioja Alta.

ORIGIN AND LAND
The D.O.Ca Rioja, located in the north of Spain, provides the vines with a temperate climate, altitude variations, chalky-clay soil, abundant rainfall and long springs and falls.

PRODUCTION AND AGEING
Alcoholic fermentation with minimum maceration of 18 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in tanks. Aged in American and French oak casks for 25 months, and bottle-aged for a minimum of 12 months, thereby guaranteeing perfect refinement, ready to be enjoyed.

SENSORY EVALUATION
SIGHT: Cherry-red color, clean and bright. Medium depth.

AROMA AND TASTE: Powerful and sharp in the nose, spiced with notes of undergrowth and bakery. Background of fruit compote still present. In the mouth it is tempting and lively, with good acidity and controlled, expressive tannins. Long aftertaste, with an elegant finish of quality wood.

FOOD PAIRING
Ideal with casseroles, all kinds of meat or seasoned soups and stews.
Ideal serving temperature: 18º - 20°C.
Alcohol:13.5% v/v
