Philippe Gonet Blanc de Blancs 2007 Grand Cru

A Beloved Vintage
Origin :
Harvest: August 2007. Bottling: March 2008. The winter was not cold and the cycle started quite early with a warm spring. After the blooming season, end of May, the weather stayed rainy and fresh. End of August was luckier for the harvest with a lot of wind a very warm weather. The yeald wad good and the grapes were healthy. The concentration of sugar was interesting and the good level of acidity made us decide to go for a Vintage.

Tasting :
Clear wine with green reflections. The perlage is present and rhythmic. On the nose , there are toasted and nuts (hazelnut) aromas supported by aromas of white flowers. The powerful and fleshy palate reveals brioche and fresh butter notes completed by a strong minerality and citrussy. The finish is long and shows the origin of its great terroir. This wine has an aging potential of 10 years.

Philippe Gonet Roy Soleil Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru

A Rich and Flattering Champagne
Origin :
In honour of Louis XIV, who fostered champagne’s worldwide popularity, the cuvée Roy Soleil, born in 2003, is the fruit of the imagination of a young team, who had begun to harness their talents. Made from 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay parcels of the family vineyard in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, this cuvée is aged for 6 months in oak barrels and then bottled and cellared for at least 3 years.

Tasting :
The delicate and elegant nose opens up to candied fruit (citrus, apricot) and gingerbread. Its woody forest bouquet develops with finesse unveiling a multitude of remarkable aromas. Its attack is mouth-filling, dominated by ripe citrus. This champagne offers a lovely freshness and a lasting finish worthy of the best wines.

Philippe Gonet Rosé Brut

A Brilliant Rosé
Origin :
The house’s Rosé is composed of 90% Chardonnay from Le Mesnil, paired with 10% Pinot Noir from the village of Vertus on the Côte des Blancs. The cellar master chose to make this cuvée a blended Rosé, bringing together all the freshness and finesse of a Chardonnay with the structure and fruit of a Pinot Noir. Cellar ageing lasts at least 3 years in order to develop its aromatic excellence.

Tasting :
A profound robe with soft, silky pink tones. Its nose is intense and complex presenting a wonderful harmony of tangy, floral and spicy red fruits. Its finish is delicate and silky with a gorgeous mineral cut.

Company details

A Fascinating Challenge
It is the story of an encounter. A historical vineyard, cultivated for almost two centuries by the same family, meets the seventh generation: a brother and a sister at the helm before their time.

A fantastic adventure began for both brother, then 22 years old and sister, 23, when they decided to take over the reins of the family business and follow in the footsteps of their father who had passed away three years earlier.

They took upon this difficult task with the ardour they inherited from the 6 generations of passionate farmers and winegrowers before them.

Pierre and Chantal, with their contrasting yet complementary personalities, share the same vision in making Champagne Philippe Gonet a winemaking reference in Le Mesnil, known worldwide for its exceptional quality wines that express the rich, pure, nuanced and mineral character of their choice terroir: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
