HMR White

100% Xarel·lo

Short cold pre­fermentation skin maceration followed by low­temperature aging on the fine lees post­fermentation.

HMR White is a monovarietal Xarel·lo wine from vineyards planted in 1974. The nutrient­poor soils at high altitude in Alt Penedés are ideal for this versatile variety. A youthful and vibrantly fruited wine with sweet herbal scents with fresh green fennel at it’s crescendo. This bottling is full of the fruit flavors typical of the Xarel·lo variety: tart green apple, Limonera pear, pineapple skin, and faint notes of Spanish jasmine. A wine that is at once intensely fruited while remaining lightly herbal and refreshingly mineral.

HMR Black

100% Grenache

70% made by a short maceration on the skins pre­fermentation, 30% by carbonic maceration.

HMR Black is a young and lively wine with an intense purple hue that hints at the delicious fruit to come. The boisterous nose is full of wild berry and Murcian plum accented by a floral note of violets. The wine is silky smooth on the palate, but with a fresh definition that leaves you wanting more. The lingering finish of blackberries continues from one sip to the next.

Finca Durona (white)

100% Parellada

Short cold pre­fermentation maceration on the skins. Fermentation commences spontaneously in custom locally­made clay amphora. Once fermentation is complete, the wine continues to age in the same vessel on its fine lee. This allows it to continue to evolve in novel ways as oxygen interacts with the wine through the porous clay material

Elegant and subtle nose with notes of heather and orchard blossoms. A silky palate with tremendous length and a rounded mineral element. A wine with a unique personality showcasing a grape seldom seen in monovarietal form.

Finca Durona (Red)

Sumoll, Grenache, Carignan

12 months in French oak

Cold pre­fermentation maceration and gentle extraction via pigeage (punchdown) followed by a 45 day maceration during fermentation. After fermentation is complete, 12 months of aging in 300 l. French oak barrels (30% new oak, 35% 2nd. year used oak and 35% 3rd. year used oak) and 24 months in the bottle.

Durona is the name of the area at the L’Avella property of Heretat MontRubi where Sumoll is cultivated. The wine’s color is an intense Tyrian purple with a complex nose of wild fruits and warm spices underscored by a subtle mineral nuance. The palate follows with a delicious combination of black and purple fruits and herbs that is decidedly Mediterranean in style, accented slightly by a delicate use of oak.

Vinodelaluna

12 months in French oak

Hand selected berries undergo a cold soak maceration on the skins prior to fermentation. The wine is extracted by a slow vertical pressing followed by aging in 300l new French oak barrels for 25 months.

A richly concentrated wine chock full of blackberry, black raspberry and plum flavors with notes of new leather, black licorice and coffee. This structured wine shows its power accentuated by balsamic qualities that continue through its complex finish.

Gaintus One night's Rosé

100% Sumoll

A select harvest of grapes specifically for this wine. Skins are allowed a cold maceration for one night only to obtain the soft color and then pressed the next morning at low pressure. Fermentation takes place in 700L concrete eggs with continuous batonnage occurring over three months.

A beautiful coral color rosé wine that is a literal bouquet of fragrances with notes of delicate pink rose petals, acacia blossom and sweet grass. The soft palate comes alive with an energetic acidity and a thirst­quenching mineral component that is a hallmark of the variety.

Gaintus Radical

Vines are planted at just over 500 meters (1650 feet). Hand selected berries undergo a cold soak maceration on the skins prior to fermentation. The wine is extracted by a slow vertical pressing followed by 6 months of aging in 300l 2nd use French oak barrels on the fine lees. 

Powerful nose of red currants and black morello cherries with touches of crimson rose. Luscious and fresh on the palate, with round tannins, balanced acidity and strong varietal character.

Gaintus Vertical is a complex and lively wine. Its intense ruby color and balmy scent of fresh cherries and toasty cedar is framed by notes of Mediterranean herbs. The flavor is spice­filled, mature and suave, married with a vivacious acidity that brings freshness. There is a clear echo of tart summer cherries on the finish overlaying a crunchy minerality.

Gaintus Sobremadurado

A selective harvest is done of the best clusters of 60 years old­vine Sumoll. The bunches are then transported to an ancient hay­barn, where they are hung to dry for more than 4 months in the breeze until the desired level of sugar concentration is reached. After vinification the wine ages in new French oak barrels for 9 months.

A seductively cherry rosé color with a finely intense bouquet to match. A medley of autumn aromas ranging from fresh orange­blossom honey to dried tart cherries and plums with touches of dried Spanish jasmine, pink rose and candied citron zest. The creamy palate echoes the nose with deepening flavors of lemondrops, quince preserves or membrillo, and balsamic reduction maintaining a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity throughout the finish.

This deliciously complex dessert wine has a powerful bouquet of white flowers such as Spanish jasmine, apricot, quince preserves or membrillo, and marcona almonds. The mouthfeel is exceptionally rich while remaining elegant and finessed with a full spectrum of flavors ranging from dried stone fruits to fresh tropical papaya and guava accented by soft cream tinged with vanilla. The finish lingers on the palate with a persistence that is never cloying.

Advent Samsó

A selective harvest is done of the best clusters of Samsó that have naturally reached their optimal sugar concentration in the vineyard. A long, complex fermentation ensues, after which the wine ages in new French oak barrels for 9 months.

Elegance, subtlety, complexity and freshness are the hallmarks of this wine both on the nose and the palate. The luscious, yet fresh palate is redolent in wild Mediterranean herbs and heather with touches of poached Jumilla pear and orange zest. An amazingly long wine with an opulent personality, ideal for an after­dinner experience.

The bodega and vineyards of Heretat MontRubì stand at over 2,000 feet above the sea, in the Catalan Pre­Coastal Range.
Here the land gives way to ancient forests of Mediterranean Pine, redolent with the scents of wild herbs and alive with the sounds of wild boar and hare scampering through the undergrowth and the calls from Bonelli’s Eagle high above.
