XO Elegance

The age of harmony
Creating CAMUS XO Elegance requires years of meticulous work. The process starts with the careful selection of different styles of hugely rich eaux-de-vie from all six of the Cognac crus (Borderies, Petite Champagne, Bons Bois, Grande Champagne, Fins Bois, Bois à Terroirs).

The presence of the Borderies cru among these eaux-de-vie gives the Cognac a rounder flavor and greater aromatic length. Long aging in cool, damp cellars ensures that each barrel gains a perfect level of maturity. A meticulous blending process finally reveals the Cognac’s personality in all its glory: a myriad of complex, harmonious aromas.

Best enjoyed in a tulip glass, either straight or mixed with a dash of mineral water. A serving temperature of 17-20°C is recommended to fully appreciate XO Elegance.

Ile de Ré

Maison CAMUS has always drawn upon all of the Charente region’s diverse terroirs, with the aim of revealing the richness and flavors these different areas have to offer. In this constant quest, the discovery of the vineyards of the Ile de Ré was a genuine revelation.

Île de Ré is found off the west coast of France in the Charente-Maritime department. Situated in the Bois à Terroirs cru, the island is the most westerly region of the Cognac appellation. The island has its own unique climate, which gives its Cognacs their natural marine notes.

Through aging, Maison CAMUS has worked to develop three different aromatic expressions of these extraordinary cognacs: Ile de Ré Fine Island, Ile de Ré Double Matured and Ile de Ré Cliffside Cellar.

Family Legacy

A tribute to living tradition
As Cyril CAMUS often says, a great Cognac is born of a father, a grandfather and a great-grandfather who were able to pass on an ancient culture of the art of distillation and aging, whilst each adding their own personal touch.

Family Legacy is the latest addition to the CAMUS family. The most remarkable feature of this Cognac is the way its creators methodically, patiently and subtly adhered to the ancestral rules of perfect blending, a legacy of five generations of accumulated expertise, recorded for posterity in notebooks since the 19th century.

8 consecutive blends are required to produce Family Legacy and thus attain the perfect degree of 40.8% vol.

About us

Company details

Deeply attached to their Cognac land, the five generations of CAMUS family have succeeded in faithfully preserving the brand’s original values. This process of handing down from father to son now ensures the continuity and development of a unique expertise, with the cornerstones remaining the soil, the vine and the grape.

As well as a love and respect for the fruit of the land, the CAMUS culture is based on innovation and the quest for exceptional aromatic qualities – for above and beyond their role as businessmen the CAMUS’s see themselves as winegrowers, explorers and passionate lovers of taste.

The fact that the CAMUS family home le Plessis lies at the heart of the highly sought-after Borderies cru is proof of this special attachment to the Cognac region. The CAMUS family is today one of the largest landowners in the Cognac Borderies appellation.

This specific character is down to the vision of Jean-Paul CAMUS, who identified the taste potential of the region’s different terroirs at a very early stage. Guided more by his own intuition than by passing trends, he chose to develop the generally overlooked Cognac cru of Borderies and allow its flavors to shine across the world.
