Romania’s largest winery, Cramele Recas is approaching its 18th birthday. After being founded by Philip and Eliveria Cox in 1998, the vineyard has grown using some of the highest quality of equipment and methods to create exquisite wine.

Located in the Romanian region of Transylvania/Banat, the conditions of the climate can often be harsh, however with care and persistence, and in its 600 hectares of land Philip and his team produce varieties that other’s would not.

The wine region’s tradition is perfectly expressed through Cramele Recas’ developing range of modern fruit driven wines. Since 2009, Cramele Recaş has invested more than €36 million in new plantations, vineyard equipment and infrastructure and in cutting-edge winery apparatus, including laboratory equipment and a fully automatic bottling line.

New equipment, including tractors, spraying machines and modern systemic viticulture methods are coordinated by consultant, Professor Diego Tomassi, the lead Viticultural Researcher at the University of Padova

The passion and respect of the wine are what make Cramele Recas such a great success.
