Wine of Moldova - Famous Wineries

Founded in 1827, Chateau Purcari is one of the most valuable and renown domains of Eastern Europe.


Chateau Purcari will present the famous Purcari wine collection including: Negru de Purcari – coupage wine preferred by Tsar Nicholas II and Queen Victoria, with a history of over 100 years, Rara Neagra de Purcari – a unique wine produced from a Moldavan indigenous grape variety at the national booth “Wine of Moldova” at ProWein 2014, Hall 6 B50.


Agrovin Bulboaca winery was founded in the middle of the 19th century by the last Governor of the Bessarabia province, Constatin Mimi, an emblematic politician and a modern winemaker of those times.


Agrovin Bulboaca SA will be presented at “Wine of Moldova”booth at ProWein 2014 with its wines originated from the Codru region such as: Feteasca alba, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Rosu de Bulboaca, a legendary blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.


“Château Vartely” is a modern winery established in 2004. It is a producer of high-quality wines from European and indigenous grapes and a leader of Moldovan wine industry.


Fully equipped with modern equipment and owning about 250 hectares of vineyards, Chateau Vartely is selling about 3,5 million bottles annually, with an average sales growth of 25% since 2005.


Vartely wines have already earned experts’ recognition winning numerous awards at Mundus Vini, Decanter, IWSC, Vinalies Internationales. Six medals have been awarded to Chateau Vartely at Mundus Vini 2013 for such wines as : Traminer, Chardonnay, Riesling Ice Wine and Taraboste, a marvelous blend that became one of the most expressive wines in Moldova.



There will be five tastings at the booth of "Wine of Moldova" (6B50) and two at the booth of Meininger Publishing House (6K60).
